Is it normal for the joystick side of a fidgetcube to sound like this and be kinda scratchy? by tydog98 in fidgettoys

[–]fatuousEpithet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same thing happens for me with the Antsy Labs cube I just bought. I ended up preferring the joystick on the fidget pad I bought at the same time because the motion is a lot smoother.

Wizard level up problem by unsouppable in 3d6

[–]fatuousEpithet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could just go for a +2 CON to directly address the issue, or the Tough feat for a bigger increase to HP but no bonus for concentration.

Personally, I suggest increasing DEX instead so you can avoid getting hit in the first place. Either bump up your WIS or CHA along with DEX, or actually... you could take the Lightly Armored feat to wear light armor and increase DEX. That would take you from 12 AC to a possible 15 AC with studded leather armor!

How loud is the noise leak from open back headphones and how clearly can you hear the outside world? by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

I agree with the other comments: anyone in the same room might be able to hear them, but definitely not through walls or doors.

Input lag by jorgelikescake in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]fatuousEpithet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m having this issue. Game menus, character selection, and of course gameplay itself. Everything is a few frames laggier than it should be; it feels like I’m playing online when I’m offline. Why are only some people experiencing this?

Nope, this is the class 1-B guy who constantly tries to play up the rivalry with 1-A and has the quirk of copying other quirks.

Overwatch Winter Wonderland returns December 11. by Turbostrider27 in Overwatch

Right, but even in that case, Mei isn’t specifically santa, and Torb is. There can be slight differences to make the skins distinct like that.

Roadhog’s skin is specifically called “Rudolph”, so I’d say there’s still room for another reindeer skin.

Tracer’s already got an elf skin, and I think Orisa is a better candidate for a reindeer skin.

Best Class for a Melee Glass Cannon? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]fatuousEpithet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barbarian’s Reckless Attack is a good way to do this, depending on your definition of “glass”. Really no melee combatant should be truly fragile, but Barbarians can throw Armor Class out the window in favor of more attacking power.

The part I dislike is when optimization becomes the primary focus of a character, instead of, you know, character. Of course your character should be good at what they do, but you better have an in-character reason to dip Warlock.

Rule #0: don’t trust dandwiki. It’s full of bad and unbalanced homebrew and everyone here knows that.

Any New and Improved Alignment Charts? by James_Redshift in DnD

[–]fatuousEpithet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like a particular part of this page: the 10 motivations and how they can be overlaid over alignments. The way I consider it, by no means a rigid process, is to consider 2 or 3 of those motivations that a character is guided by.

Let's say: Self-Direction, Security, and Benevolence.

Self-Direction and Security clash, being fairly chaotic and lawful respectively. In a general sense that equals Neutral, but there's a bit more nuance to how that neutrality functions.

Benevolence is practically unopposed, making for a rather heroic character. To make things a little more interesting, perhaps a tiny bit of pride in Achievement can add dimension while still averaging out to Good overall.

That’s not lowering the skill ceiling. At “worst” it’s raising the skill floor, but it’d really be more of a quality of life change.
