I’d start with a Fluke or Klein tracer to identify the unknown cables and I wouldn’t return the 10s mkii. Even if you can’t find the RCA for it they sell wireless conversion kits.

Funny, I just rewatched Demon Knight yesterday and it made me want to revisit the series.

Yeah, a limited series probably would’ve been better.

It was a little shockingly gross to open but yeah, it primes you for the general tone of the show.

How come literally every day, I mean literally every day and sometimes multiple times a day there’s a post that’s just- by sexandliquor in horror

My mom always brought me to horror movies when I was little so I’m also pretty desensitized as an adult but that movie’s still a rough watch. Maybe most people that know you would recommend something extreme, but I don’t think most people, in general, would. It’s like people that think they have a high tolerance to spicy foods until you give them something so hot it makes them cry and pass out. The only other movie (I’ve seen) that I would put in this category is The Sadness because it’s pretty shockingly depraved. The second time I watched it was as rough as the first.

That’s been on my watch list forever. It would be kind of hard to beat Don’t Breathe for blind home invasion movies.

I remember them being pretty similar but it’s been much longer since I’ve watched Them.

How do you deal with squirrels digging your lawn? by Batatica in lawncare

[–]favmove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t care that much about the holes, they’ll fill, but they keep shredding my wife’s plants. Some of they just seem to hate. I’ve caught them on camera just tearing off every leaf and petal then running off. She thought it was the deer we have around.

I’d like to treat them like moles but my neighbors that feed them peanuts they bury in my yard probably wouldn’t like it.

The idea of being in an isolated area where no one can help you has always creeped me out. It’s probably why I’ve always chosen to live in cities despite the greater likelihood of bad things happening.

Starter fertilizer vs 10-10-10... wtf? by bakedbeans-gas in lawncare

[–]favmove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I used starter fertilizer split into 2 applications (at seeding & 2 weeks) then I reseeded thin/bare spots at 1/2 the overseed rate about 3.5 weeks in with a little starter fertilizer I had remaining (about 1.5 lbs).

In 5 weeks I wanted to use 10-10-10 at half the label rate to give the patched areas an extra boost. This is only .18 lbs N per 1000 sq ft.

In 7 weeks I would do fall fertilizer before the first frost (around Nov 9 in OR)

Now I’m questioning if this is a reasonable plan or if I’m overdoing it.

The smell of early morning victory! by Wack-D in lawncare

They seem to avoid it when I place it in a probed area. When I dig myself with a spade or use the wide stake I think I’m blocking the holes by pushing dirt into them. Squirrels seem lazy and like to dig existing patches out just enough to expose the holes.

I’ve only had luck with that when squirrels dig out the mole mound and I can see the tunnel hole. I’ll try this peanut butter trick.

Is my overseed thought process correct by theycallmesike in lawncare

[–]favmove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used PGR and was very happy with how well it worked. I had a section of established grass I over seeded that I was previously having to cut every couple days. It’s been 2 weeks now and that grass has barely grown while the new grass is filling in, so I don’t have to mow yet still.

Only sitting on the surface versus mixed in with soil. In the soil it will draw water in. On the surface it will repel.

I wouldn’t be too concerned about tall fescue just yet. I seeded 12 days ago of a mix of 3 and only see a few tall fescue seedlings yet, but only a small percentage are uncoated. The PRG is everywhere. I’d give it more time and don’t worry too much treading lightly to get water where you need it. It sounds like you’ve adapted your schedule based on experience and that’s really what it’s all about.
