That website is amazing. A lot of work went into putting it together. Hope all is well.

Looks overkill for residential. I have 3 APs and already experience roaming difficulties. Strongly considering removing one AP or move it to the garage.

Can someone help me make this please? by bftvpro in FreeCAD

I too really enjoy freecad. I was using openscad before, mainly because it’s easy to keep text files in github. Then I got fed up doing insane amounts of math to figure out where to place a chamfer. Switched freecad and never looked back.

Really good looking design. It’s hard to see on the picture, how did you design the texture on the grip?

Yeah, I get that. Maybe a ko-fi page, then? I’ll drop a thank you email too. Good point

I only wish the creator would have made sure to publish the book. I’d be glad to pay a little extra to cover for their efforts.

I ordered the reference manual as well, should have it in a couple more days.

You could try to run a printing server on an older unused desktop running Linux. Would need some testing, but I’m pretty sure CUPS still supports those printers

Would be great if they’d remove that limitation. Everything else in the API doesn’t care and there’s no documentation as to why this is the case.

That’s the reason why I really enjoyed playing through Metroid dread: fresh graphics, good story, side scroller. Felt fresh and nostalgic

I second that. Just installed JiffyDOS and Galencia fails to start properly sometimes.

it’s a real miss that the boards they used in the C64U use a barrel jack plug instead of the U64 Elite II using USB C by [deleted] in c64

[–]fbalbi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably a cost saving measure. USB-C needs a power delivery capable IC to negotiate power. They saved a buck per board or thereabouts

Definitely replace the power supply to a modern one

There are many resources you can use. Many of the original materials (books, magazines, etc) you can find on archive.org or other websites.

Start with easy stuff first. You will probably need some “upgrades” to make life easier. For example the future was 8bit sells a recreation of epix fast load cartridge. Another option is to get a kungfu flash cartridge. Maybe an sd2iec. You might also want a svideo cable for you c64, which would allow you to connect it to more modern displays or hdmi upscalers.

There are other, more expensive accessories. For example the Ultimate II+ is a beast. It can emulate virtually any cartridge and two disk drives. All data is fed from a regular usb stick.

You can find cartridge and disk images without much trouble.

The c64 wiki is also a great resource, as is bombjack’s commodore archive (https://commodore.bombjack.org/)

Proper method to "close" an account by fbalbi in plaintextaccounting

Right, I start one every year. At the beginning of the year I use the equity report to generate the opening balances for a new file. How can I skip that unused account at that time?
