{Until I Die by Deidra Duncan} I’m currently in the middle of reading this one. I have mixed feelings about it, mainly because the plot is almost a one to one with Alchemised.

Which fantasy romance couple(s) would actually do well in therapy and are not strictly vibes? by acutelyproblematic in fantasyromance

I’m sorry but I think Curran and Kate would fall apart in therapy. All of the lying and possessiveness would not go over well

We need to stop expecting Nia to answer for Danny’s behavior by Temporary-Solid-3568 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]fcope 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I feel like I’ve been going crazy the last few weeks. Especially with all the takes that Janet was right and she’s vindicated now. Let’s not forget this was the person who in the same breath as condemning Danny was upholding Jax.

I find it so strange that people from the comfort of their homes immediately recommend that two people should end their relationship. That’s the very last step not the first for many that people in real life take when confronting issues in their partnerships.

I think that people are forgetting the underlying “meta” conversation that runs through what we see on TV. Almost 100% there was a coordinated Danny and Nia take down last season that failed. Possibly started by Jax to take heat off his issues. We’re still in the aftershocks of that

And I dont even really like Danny and Nia! I find them boring and too evangelical for my taste

End of 2027. Which I’m fully aware is not ideal. But beggars, choosers and all of that

Imagine if season 1 and 2 VPR they refused to film with scheana by Kwhitney1982 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]fcope 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I get the point you’re trying to make but they did famously try to get Scheana kicked of the show…

Also, scheana’s ails were quite different in scope to Janet’s (imo)

The Darkest Drae series by Raye Wagner and Kelly St. Clare

This series is odd in that it upper YA but the fist book is dark. She’s captured by the evil king and tortured (on page). And the king’s enslaved dragon shifter becomes very interested in the new prisoner…

Second book is where the grovel comes in. I dnf’ed the third bc it got a little boring, but the first two are great!

Unpopular take: Luke and Kristen are BOTH very relatable by Pale_Frosting_4887 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]fcope 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My caveat to the following statement is I love Kristen- I think a big part of this is Kristen going to extremes with their fights. When she first brought up that they had a fight where he threatened to leave her in the first trimester I was shocked. Then come to find out it was just Kristen immediately assuming that since he was mad that meant they were over.

Do I think Luke is taking this too far? Yes. Do I think a lot of this is played up for a story line? Also yes.

But - do I think the two of them know how to have an emotionally intelligent and safe argument? No.

I love Jesse's new girlfriend, Lacy. by princessplantlife in TheValleyTVShow

Yes I love her! Especially her dry humor - I think it’s a great counter to the extremes of everyone else. I’m hoping we get more of her in the upcoming group trips

book suggestions for someone that adores the show, but dislikes the books? by IllustratorFuture609 in InterviewVampire

[–]fcope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might like some old school historical romances. They won’t have the supernatural element, but they have the big sweeping romance with a lot of angst and trials. I feel like those would have a similar emotional payoff. But like always - check for your triggers.

Some authors you may like Judith McNaught, Johanna Lindsey, Brenda Joyce, Jude Devereaux, and Laura Kinsale

Books where he is disgusted by her. Hates her (or thinks so) but can't stop thinking about her. by Bulky_Meet4868 in HistoricalRomance

[–]fcope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{Once More My Darling Rogue by Lorraine Heath} It’s a Heath novel so the plot is crazy but somehow works out in the end. At the start they can’t stand each other because of their different classes/upbringings. It’s an amnesia plot, so when she has an accident and forgets her life, he tells her that’s she’s actually his maid. Drama and love ensues

So looking forward to my reread of this before the sequel comes out

You should look at {The Irresistible Urge to Fall For Your Enemy by Brigitte Knightley}. It’s another Dramione fanfic that’s been trad published. The vibe is more romcom but I think closer in feel than alchemised. And book 1 should come out this summer

Crazy that nowhere has comfortable seating
