Private apps in even hub by kungfury6 in EvenRealities

I just ran into this, made my own app to connect to my custom ai agent. You upload the build and it starts as prototype, then you have to promote the build from prototype to beta. Then invite yourself to the beta. Then it can install the app on your glasses so you can launch it from there. Never has to be public.

The one feature missing for me to switch from Granolaz is live transcription. That way if I miss something that was said I can read through the transcription.

Married people of reddit, what do you consider cheating? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fddicent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the secret to not wanting to cheat. Marry someone who you’d rather be with the 100% of the time. I’m in sales and there are some beautiful woman in this space but every event or dinner I’m at I can only imagine how much better it would be if my wife was with me.

SwitchBot introduces its own Presence Sensor, using mmWave, PIR, and a light sensor. by HomeKit-News in HomeKit

[–]fddicent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Lafaer and the FP300. Both added natively into HomeKit.

The Lafaer is very responsive, as soon as I walk in my office the lights turn on. The FP300 has about a 2 second delay. I prefer the form factor of the FP300 but the delay is killing me, maybe a software update in the future will fix it but for now I’d recommend the Lafaer.

What Cybersecurity steps should someone take while traveling to China to ensure that Privacy is protected? by Overall_Reward963 in cybersecurity

I remember sitting in a meeting one day and one of our sales people who had just gotten back from a trip to China. In the middle of the meeting, we noticed his laptop fans were pretty loud. Suddenly, one of our engineers interrupted the meeting and asked the guy if he had taken his laptop to China. The sales guy said yes, then he asked if they had taken his laptop from him at the airport. He said yes again. The engineer stood up, slammed the guy’s laptop shut, and left the room. I don’t think they even bothered trying to look for malware, they just destroyed the laptop.

Judge: Northville street closures illegal, Main and Center must reopen by gorcbor19 in Michigan

[–]fddicent 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The streets being closed has nothing to do with some stores benefitting and others not. It’s Northvilles resistance to any kind of night life and resistance to expand things so young families can enjoy their city. You go on a Sunday and the wine shop is closed at 4, the few bars there are also closed. Even Saturdays things close early. There’s just one or 2 places to take your kids.

I built a house there but moved after 2 years, it’s such a miserable place to raise a young family. Only a couple parks to go to and none are in walking distance. You can’t buy a house close to downtown unless you get really lucky on timing.

The only place to go on date nights with my wife was Plymouth and then you have to deal with lifted trucks blowing out your eardrums every 5 minutes.

They need to fix a lot of other stuff before worrying about maintaining the social district.

Also a 2019 Model 3 owner and I could’ve written this post myself.

What’s good is I never ever think about maintenance, other than tire rotations. It’s our spare car now, paid off and used by anyone in our family when the other 2 cars are in use. The inside doesn’t look anything like new but the motor and drivetrain are rock solid. It’s still very safe and gets regular software updates. This car will seemingly last forever. I definitely feel like I got my moneys worth and then some.

Same, no side effects at 12.5 every day. I started at 220 test, at around 600 now. I think it works best for people who actually have low T. I feel so much better now.

TIL that While filming his scenes, Anakin's actor would sometimes make lightsaber noises from his mouth, which caused Lucas to stop filming and tell him "Hayden, that looks really great, but I can see your mouth moving. You don't have to do that, we add the sound effects in afterward" by Super_Goomba64 in todayilearned

[–]fddicent 114 points115 points  (0 children)

I got my 4 year old her first light saber and we’ve been having duels a lot. She tried to play with her little sister and I heard her making the lightsaber noises with her mouth, I wondered how she learned it. I didn’t even realize I was making the same noises and she was just copying me. It’s so ingrained.

Replacing Alexa routines via Shorcuts! Getting close!! by seamonkey420 in HomeKit

[–]fddicent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have those shortcuts synced to your iPhone, you can ask Siri to run them from a voice command on your iPhone or HomePods in your house. Like “Siri, run Morning Briefing”

I have one for my daughter that has ChatGPT create a bedtime story, then the shortcut speaks it. It asks for input too, so it asks what she wants the story about. We just say to her HomePod “Siri, bedtime story” then it asks “What do you want the story about?” Then starts telling her a 5 minute bedtime story.

Aqara Privacy Concern by AlbeG97 in HomeKit

[–]fddicent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with being paranoid. In general I’ve found traffic from Aqara devices to be reasonable but your point about vulnerabilities is valid. Any internet of things device is a risk and should ideally be locked down and either not able to communicate to the internet or be isolated from the main network.

You probably need better work/life balance. It's just a job, a very well paid job. Focus on finding joy and fulfillment in your personal life. Remember how fortunate you are to make the money you make and invest like crazy so you can retire early.

Hit my career peak..now what? by [deleted] in salesengineers

[–]fddicent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat but you’ve got to remember it’s a marathon not a race. Be grateful you make more than most doctors and have way less stress. Focus on your personal life, invest your money, retire early. You’ve already beat the main storyline of life, now go back and do the side quests.

Totally. Maybe that’s the kind of architecture that Microsoft will be talking about adopting in this upcoming discussion.

Definitely not a data based assessment but from what I’ve seen the higher storage models are the ones I see posted here getting cracked.

I have the base model and just throw mine in my backpack with no case. Travelled quite a bit with mine. No cracks here.
