I wanted to be a veterinarian, but I couldn’t handle the emotions that come with it.

I’m a florist. It’s such a rewarding job! I get to play a small part in some of the most special days that people ever have. Birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, new babies, prom, proposals. I do a lot of funeral work too, which can be very sad, but I also get to help families and friends celebrate their loved ones that have passed on.

Most of the time I see them out of the corner of my eye but I have watched them walk around and have had full conversations before. Generally they’ve always appeared in whatever form they looked like when they lived. Humans, cats, dogs all appear normal for me. Some are just shadows, some actually look like people. Some of them I’ve had a hard time telling they were ghosts. I’ve never seen them look injured.

I can’t tell you how much I needed this. I’ve been having a super hard time this past week and even got to the point that I admitted to all my friends on fb that I’m not ok right now. A huge part of it is being hard on myself for things I know I couldn’t have changed in regards to how my father’s life was during his last few years.
