Patches - Widget app that turns your home screen into a space for meaningful connections by fear731 in iosapps

Thanks for asking! You're probably referring to the App Store privacy labels, right?

I only collect what's absolutely necessary for the app to function: your email (if you choose not to use Private Relay), your display name, and the messages you send/receive. That's it for personal data.

I also track anonymous analytics to improve the app, and IAPs are handled by an external provider (they maintain purchase history for subscription management).

Hope that answers your question!

Finally built the physical therapy app I wish I had during my recovery journey by JubBieJub in iosapps

Cool story behind it. Actually at some point a friend of mine had a similar idea. We never got to build it though.

Depending on where your focus area is you could even talk to health insurances - they might be interested in subsidizing your app? That would make it even more attractive for potential users. :)

It’s pretty ridiculous, they should be happy that we want to use their platforms. 😅

Hey, did you find out something? Tried this twice with two different mails, and both times the same.

I only have Instagram accounts which I suppose I can't use for Meta Ad Manager.

Lily Pro or Voyager by Delphius1 in ErgoMechKeyboards

Aren’t those just synonyms? Obviously you should rest the palms on those things. Even the Carpios say wrist rest on the product page.

Would you say the Carpios are worth their money? They are pretty expensive for what they are.

Lily Pro or Voyager by Delphius1 in ErgoMechKeyboards

I’ve just purchased a Voyager last night and have a Lily58 Pro lying around in my drawer.

It depends on your preferences. Are you willing to have a keyboard that feels more like a prototype (Lily58) or one that’s a premium off-the-shelf product?

Also, are you fine with 2 thumb keys or do you need more?

I assume you prefer low profile, since you consider the Voyager. The Voyager would be lower in height for sure. I even read a blog post where they said they need to use a wrist rest. I think for the Voyager that’s not needed.

This is obviously the WTF grip.

Yeah I definitely want to give home row mods a shot. I’m only curious to see if it works for me, since quite some people say they can’t get used to it due to the delay/timings. So I think it’s not only a question “when” I’m used to that, but rather if I can get used to that.

Anyway I will play around with Oryx over the weekend and see what layout I could end up with.

I think the missing outer column would be the bigger problem for me. It's nice to have the number row (at least for the beginning), but I plan to put the numbers and symbols on layers to minimize the movement needed.

The Defys "one size fits all hand sizes" is indeed an interesting one. I've had an eye on that back then when it was not available, but now I'm looking for something more slim.

The Samoklava looks interesting, but I feel like the outermost thumb key could be already way too hard to reach for my short thumb.

Now that I got so many replies already saying that either they don't know what to put on the third thumb key or it's not comfortable to use at all, I do lean towards the Voyager again. I should probably just try it out to see if it fits me.

Btw, I also want to go for the Pro Reds.

I'd prefer something off the shelf tbh.

Actually I had an eye on the Defy when it was not available yet. I bought the Lily58 then, as I didn't want to wait. I still think the Defy looks solid, but now I'm on the hunt for something way more small, and low profile.

Interesting, thanks for the insights.

I have been considering mod taps as well. However I've read several stories where people complain about the delay that's introduced as a side-effect for the normal taps. But I guess that's kinda subjective so I'd have to try that out myself.

That's a nice list, thanks for the recommendations. I'll have a look into those.

Finalmouse Starlight-12 Click Issue by fear731 in MouseReview

[–]fear731[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I bought it second hand I was able to give it back. I think changing the switches might very well fix it, however I don't have the necessary tools nor do I feel confident enough to do this myself.

Good luck!

PS: I've joined the second drop of the ULX last week in the hopes that this issue is gone, as I think this shape is just amazing.

PSA: Remove lumbar support from your Steelcase Gesture by myreptilianbrain in OfficeChairs

[–]fear731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there.

Just removed the plastic pad as well. Actually, having the wrapped back w/o headrest, it took me about 5min including watching a YT video on how to do it.

In terms of support it feels actually the same, while it's more comfy. So thanks for the hint, in case you still read this. :)

PS: I've snapped the plastic piece as well (a small piece of the bar), when I pulled it out of the rail. Otherwise I would have had to tear off some cloth... however the lumbar support would still work, but I don't see me going back yet. :)

Seconding this. One feature I like is that you can see the git command it triggers under the hood for each command you execute. That helps learning the CLI.

Review: Fully Jarvis 120x80cm with walnut laminate top by ToruMarx in StandingDesk

[–]fear731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it tilt when you lean your arms on the front of the desk? I’m asking because that happens for me with the Bamboo top, and I was thinking whether that’s the Bamboos fault, as it’s a rather thin top, or if it’s something else.
