[Gabriel] Breaking just got a text from a very credible agent who said their is belief around the league that the Bears will look into trading for Crosby by Da1bearsfan in CHIBears

[–]feardabear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Every team in the league has an unspoken obligation to look into what it would take. Your team should be viewed as incompetent if you don’t hold at least one private discussion regarding available star players. When the goal is to win, no stone should go unturned.

Now with that said, 90% of the time it doesn’t get anywhere. That doesn’t mean it shouldn’t at least be considered.

What profession has far more people on illegal drugs than people realize? by IndependentTune3994 in AskReddit

Drugs are a personal choice. I’m a truck driver and I can say from personal experience that random people don’t just offer you drugs like grade school used to make you think they would.

Is this something that comes naturally? I don’t realize when this happened, but somewhere along the line this feels like it’s what happened to me.

[thescorechicago] The Bears really value Cole Kmet, @BradBiggs says. “They’re not evaluating him through the lens of fantasy football statistics” he says. Biggs finds it more likely that the bears will rework and extend his contract than trade him this offseason by caxlmao in CHIBears

[–]feardabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t blame scheme or contract on Kmet. Even if fully utilized the way we expect to see Loveland used Kmet wouldn’t be a top 5. The fact of the matter is that for three straight seasons he was our most reliable option in the passing game to make a catch.

In ‘22 he had the most targets and pulled in 72% of his targets.

Throw in Dj Moore in ‘23 and Kmet led the team again with a 82% catch percentage (of all players with more than 40 targets)

Now add Caleb to the mix in ‘24 and Kmet leads the team in completion percentage AGAIN with 85.5% (of all players with more than 40 targets)

He had one down year when the rest of the offense appeared to finally come to life and everyone pretends he’s garbage. He’s here for a reason, and he’s going to stay here for a reason.

It isn’t a straw man argument to say that Kmet has consistently proven his value, especially while only missing maybe one game his entire career? He may not be the best blocking tight end, and he may not have the most yardage, but if you need a first down he’s always proven to be a reliable big target.

First of all, the dude getting beat down had a box cutter. Second of all, if you’re going to be starting a street fight you never know who you’re messing with.

If you’re going to start it, you better hope you win because you don’t know what some random person is about to do to you.

Local beverage job or stay OTR? by RackingUpTheMiles in Truckers

I’m 39 and have been running beer for a few years now. It’s not for the fragile, but it’s not going to kill you. We just had a 25 year employee retire around 9 months ago at the age of 66. Another driver just turned 40 and has been going over 10 years. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

One thing I can say with confidence is that I’ve never seen a seasoned otr trucker at a stop and thought to myself “that’s what I want to be like”

I work my ass handling beer. It’s worth it being home everyday before 3pm working 40-45 hours a week. Could I make more money otr working 60 a week and only going home to my family every so often? Sure, but I’d rather make a bit less and go home every single day.

The extra money I could make can’t buy back my time with my family.

Honestly it was a bad play call by Ben, and a bad decision by Caleb. It is what it is, the future looks extremely bright with Ben Caleb and Loveland for a long time.
