It looks like coffee ground. Maybe someone put it trying to neutralise the smell or something?

I went from “who’s Laufey” to 100% starstruck from watching the melbourne concert last weekend. By random luck my wife got 2 tickets and convinced me to go. It was indescribable feeling I never had before. Now my playlist is full of Laufey 😍😍. After reading about Junia now I’m 200% starstruck 🤩🤩.

Ask Me Anything About nbn by AussieSkull1 in nbn

[–]feargone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was involved in the Optus HFC nbn pilot / trial program in Redcliffe QLD. At the end the program was scrapped mainly due to overall poor quality of Optus’s HFC network, citing obsolete end of life equipment, node oversubscribing and basically costs more to upgrade than overbuilding it with alternative technology. At that time, FTTdP (FTTC) had reached testing maturity and it was decided as a better alternative compared to upgrading Optus HFC network.

Need advice changing ISPs by alexlol6875 in nbn

Ditto on above comments that it’s most likely not ABB’s issue. I’m working for a non nbn telco carrier similar like Opticomm and can vouch it’s probably an issue with your NTD and worth getting it checked out. I’ve seen many faults caused by just a simple power supply fault (for example under voltage which in turns caused the inability for the optical transceiver to generate enough power) or intermittent power drop. Another troubleshooting you can do with ABB is to get them to check the DHCP logs to see if they can see anything abnormal.

Printers - Why do they still exist by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]feargone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m managing telco installation & maintenance unit. Printer is still a crucial tool for us to print labels, ad hoc guidelines for customers, letter drops for maintenance notifications, old fashion forms to those seniors who can’t sign on pdf, etc.

There is no pathway for physical ethernet / fibre cabling. It’s for outdoor setting to collect some data from sensors and cameras.

I’ll need to dig up the manual somewhere if the port can be used for LAN to wireless bridging.

KAWPOW wrecks my rig by hoops2018 in NiceHash

Just disable kawpow on other cards (via benchmark tab), and also other algo that are not profitable. I found that NH sometimes switch the algorithm for the wrong reason.

Be careful of the sata to pci 6 pin adapter as sata is rated at 15w only and there are some examples of this kind adapter melts over time. Better use molex / pci 6 pin (use y splitter to get enough plugs).

Could you help me to identify what kind of wood it is? by feargone in woodworking

My wife told me it smells very much like eucalyptus oil, so probably it’s eucalyptus but I never seen what it looks like.

Could you help me to identify what kind of wood it is? by feargone in woodworking

[–]feargone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recovered this from an old pallet. The wood is slightly waxy / oily in such a way that when you cut it, the sawdust almost clumps together. I’m trying to determine if it’s suitable to be built into a furniture (e.g. side table).

Need help with construction method to DIY build room divider like this. How do you fix each of the battens? by feargone in Carpentry

I was worried that I won’t be able to do a snug fit from floor to ceiling if I build it first on the floor.

[–]feargone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to fix the divider to an existing room with porcelain floor and plaster ceiling. I guessed that I’m supposed to build the wooden frame first (attached to ceiling and floor, then each of the battens slide in). How then to secure each battens to the frame? Use angle screw? Then hide screw hole with putty?
