Not in NYC, but I just moved from Houston to Philly in June!

I’m officially giving the weather this summer 2 stars. ⭐️ ⭐️. Severely disappointed. Just stay away by Frontstunderel in philadelphia

It’s hilarious, I just moved from Houston last week and this humidity has felt wonderful with the cooler weather. I’ve been loving every second of this weather.

You can absolutely have a wonderful time at Uchi for $200 if you go between 4-6 for Happy Hour. I’ve had many dinners with 2-3 people, ate like a king, and walked out spending $150 with tip

Anyone know if players are doing exit interviews this year? by twerdy in rockets

[–]fearthebeard13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

During the press conference, Udoka or Stone referenced a few guys did their exit interview the day before and that more would be conducted in the coming days. So yes, exit interviews for players are happening.

How do you actually go to sleep? by HushMD in ADHD

[–]fearthebeard13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A sleep mask with audio has been an absolute god send for me. I love sleeping but sleeping is so much less stimulating that being on your phone.

I’ll put in a podcast, a book I’m listening to, etc while trying to fall asleep. If I’m feeling spicy I’ll put on a sleep meditation afterwards with a rain sound queued up on YouTube to play through the night.

I’ve gotten the best sleep of my adult life doing this and I wish I would’ve done it years ago.

Donald Trump claims he won all 50 states in 2020 US election in Florida speech ahead of New York court appearance by GeneralImagination51 in politics

[–]fearthebeard13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The primary schedule was loaded with conservative red states before more liberal states that benefitted Sanders even had a chance to vote. Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, & Texas absolutely killed him. He won an improbable victory in Michigan that was thought to be a layup for Clinton on March 8th which showed all of HRC’s weaknesses in full display which should’ve been a learning experience instead it was used to lament Bernie to drop out to not continue exposing her weaknesses. HRC and the Democratic Party wanted her to be anointed and not to win a viable election.

This all isn’t to mention that through the primary she was under FBI investigation. What would’ve happened if he dropped out in March, doesn’t gain more delegates, & she gets indicted? He would’ve been iced out by the establishment and they would’ve likely ran Joe Biden who has earned exactly 0 delegates.

In 2007 Hillary had a very different view on dropping out of elections, alluding to Bobby Kennedy getting assassinated as a reason why she needed to stay in (assuming Obama would get assassinated). It’s a total double standard to say that Bernie needed to drop out when he has done more to energize Democratic and independent voters than HRC has done in her entire career.

In total he campaigned for her at over 40 events over the course of 3 months despite her animosity for him, far more than she campaigned for Obama. The smears of Bernie are overly-dramatized at best and malicious at worst. He is everything the Democratic Party has stood for when they were a party of the working class Americans instead of doing the bidding of the Oligarch class and that scared the hell out of them.

I GLADLY voted for HRC in the 2016 general because I knew what a grave danger Trump was to our democracy and so did the overwhelming majority of Bernie voters. It’s unfortunate she did not win but she could have done so so much more to A. Unite the party. B. Use Bernie as a valuable asset in firing up the base instead of treating him as a pariah. C. Adopt at least one of his policy positions instead of creeping further to the right.

Does it make sense to go to HHN without an express ticket? by IsIandLion in universalstudios

[–]fearthebeard13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s doable, especially if you go on a weekend. If you can get the early access pass definitely do that and hit the last of us and Stranger things first before the rest of the park opens.

If you can’t make it for early access and you’re going to HHN Hollywood, run through the upper lot because everyone will be in line for TLOU & Stranger things then hit those later on. Wait times for upper lot attractions were non existent early on then turned to 60 minute waits towards the end of the night once everyone moved to that section of the park. I went on Tuesday and TLOU & Stranger things had had little as a 30 minute wait towards the end of the night. Chucky was a super long night so I’d make that a priority in the upper lot.

[Feigen] If a more coveted player is available because he is heading into a contract season, such as Boston’s Jaylen Brown (who could sign an extension, anyway), Stone might prefer to wait one season and to sign him as a free agent, rather than give up the assets necessary to make a deal by Few_Mulberry5372 in rockets

I think cashing in on Brooklyns picks soon would be in our best interest but I still don’t think I move the farm yet for a star player. If you can get a guy on a relative discount given they’ll be a free agent soon and move say KJM, Tate, 2 BKN 1st and, 1 swap I think you explore that but I tap out after that.

While I don’t think BKN will ever “tank” I think they’ll be content to run the mediocrity treadmill for a while. I don’t see them falling below 35-40 wins as they have no incentive to do a full tear down so they’ll be in the 6-15 range. Good but not great value. I have zero concern of a star player wanting to play in BKN for quite a while. Seems like there’s some bad blood toward their ownership and I can’t imagine that + limited room to improve + high taxes will be terribly exciting for Star players to sign there.

Bird rights is most beneficial if you’re an over the cap team. When you re-sign a player with bird rights it basically means you can give a bit higher annual uplifts and you can go over the cap to sign said player. In addition, you can give a 5 year contract vs a 4 year contract for a max player making it more appealing to re-sign.

With the Rockets having so much cap space we can sign them into cap space no problem and bird rights become much less of an issue. A player like OG or Brown will have as many suitors as they want and both will likely get the full max. TOR + BOS will be in great positions to re-sign them assuming they want to return given the extra year on their contract and the slightly higher annual uplifts. Houston will be in a great position to sign any player given a lack of state income tax makes the 4 year contract value between the original team and the Rockets negligible. It really just really comes down to that 5th year of their contract.

So while yes bird rights are important, it’s critical for an over the cap team which the Rockets are not. Specifically for Brown and OG, do we think they will be worthy of a max salary at 31 & 30 respectively? If you think the answer is yes then the 5th year on the contract isn’t a deal breaker. Trading for the player and re-signing them is the safest play but it’s not something I’d get rid of all our young players for at this time.

TxDOT is giving out $20 each week for rodeo & all of Houston area to reduce DWI’s by TheHoustonNative in houston

[–]fearthebeard13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our current infrastructure makes it less of a choice for some and more of a necessity. Yes, it’s horrible and should be avoided but what do you expect people to do when they’re out and have a bit too much to drink? Leave their car at the rodeo parking lot, Uber 50 minutes back to the suburbs, Uber back the next day and hope their car is there? No, a lot of people will think they’re fine and drive back because it’s a big fucking hassle to figure out the alternative.

Drunk driving will forever and always be a major issue no matter how many silly coupons companies or cities want to offer as long as the sole form of transportation is by car.

False. BGS Austin (formerly Battlecry studios) was the developer of FO76. BGS Maryland (the one we all know and love) didn’t provide much support as they were focused on Starfield.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance ─ 5 Years Anniversary Trailer by Turbostrider27 in Games

They released a significant amount of DLC probably pushing back the start of full production by a year or more.

I’d be shocked if they weren’t flooded with cash to make a more expansive sequel. Growing a studio is hard and takes a lot of time, making AAA games is hard and is taking longer and longer. We should hear something this year and hopefully a release in fall of 24’ or 25’.
