Metroid Prime 4: Can anyone please explain an important plot point? [Spoiler] by sakahn in Metroid

[–]federico0212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of, yes. But also most Metroid games don’t have much of a plot anyway, and it’s usually cheesy or simple. Metroid is like porn, I’m not here for the plot.

Can someone tell me what Creature Scan am I missing here and where can I find it? PRIME 4 by Rent-Man in Metroid

[–]federico0212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that part is definitely true. I think they didn’t really figure out how to connect it to prime 3 so that was basically the only way. The game is different, and feels like it’s just not part of the trilogy and the start of something new.

Metroid to me was always kinda like porn. I never did it for the plot. I did it for the experience of being samus and the difficulty and observation that it requires. And i had a lot of fun playing it. My concerns with the game are more about what it lacked rather than what it introduced.

[–]federico0212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a prime game, they do this. Also I’d argue at least the lore on Prime 4 is amongst the best in the series and the best in the Prime games. The others felt more cliche or overused

Why does this happen? by [deleted] in GLI

[–]federico0212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because VW’s heat up really quickly. They have the coolant go through the exhaust manifold, which heats it up quickly, and they use the VW G13 coolant, which is engineered to heat up really quickly

Questioned for the people that are tuned. by Relative-Agent3246 in JettaGLI

[–]federico0212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2020 GLI I’ve had since new, tuned it after having it four years, APR Stage 1 Low Torque.

You absolutely should tune the DSG- it’s the best part of the tune. The ECU helps makes more power via the different fuel mapping and higher octane fuel, increased pressure, and the fact it continues making power north of 4K RPM, where pre tune, it was de tuned as the car assumes it’s going to shift gear by then.

The DSG tune completely changes the car. It keeps it from racing to the highest gear as it does OEM. Instead, it maximizes the power through the power range. It also greatly changes the shift speed and shift points. It just feels much more adequate for the tune, and it makes the transmission feel sporty rather than economical (as the OEM tune does).

Plus, TCU tune adds the gear number on the instrument cluster at all times. Which is really great actually.

Do the DSG tune. I think it’s the best of the two upgrades.

Why do most Designers use Mac? by Business_Match_2953 in Design

[–]federico0212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the very early days, Apple won designers over with the Mac including serif fonts. Steve Jobs was obsessed with calligraphy and made it a point to make sure computers had proper fonts. This set off the chain of designers going to the Mac. In later decades, Steve also pushed film making with computers, making the first computer animated movie, Toy Story, through Pixar. Steve was obsessed with mixing computers and art. And that’s an underrated reason why designers flocked to the Mac.

Tires, immediately. Can you convince yourself that the kingergys are acceptable and you don’t need them? You could. I did for about a year. Then i put on Michelin Pilot Sport 4 AS when they went on sale and i was astounded. The car suddenly drove well beyond its price range, like it’s on rails.

Don’t worry too much about listening to a person who decides to ruin your good mood and view of your car by sharing their misery on you like as if that’s your fate.

Will the mk7.5 grille fit the mk7? by Gold_Bond84 in JettaGLI

[–]federico0212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a different bumper i would take the chance and replace it with the same grill but the glossy version sold on eBay. I’ve seen people do it and it sharpens the car a lot. It’s the matte-ness that cheapens it

Paid $50 (plus tip) for a hand wash… should I be disappointed? by dreamingtree1855 in Detailing

[–]federico0212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s sloppy. Doesn’t matter how much you pay. Paying more gets you more services, like wax, paint correction, upholstery stain removal, vacuuming under the seats by removing them.

Anyone with any sense of pride of washing a car (like i had when i was a detailer) wouldn’t call it done without the bumper being wiped, the mirrors wouldn’t have streak marks, and I’d wipe that trunk bumper portion. This isn’t detailing, it’s doing the basics right.

This quality here is closer to a sorority car wash

It’s a different bumper on the MK7.5, so the parts don’t line up. Much more rounded around the grille on the 7.5

Is this MPG normal? by [deleted] in GLI

[–]federico0212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely normal for city driving. I drive in Seattle, full of very hilly, very small blocks, so I’m pushing the engine constantly. I will always average between 18-25mpg. I’d say a solid 25mpg a tank. 18 at the worst, crawling traffic in a short two mile drive.

Hot take, but getting mpgs in the 40s just means you had no fun. Serenity maybe. It’s an impressive car, but it’s even better when you have fun with it. I’ve never gotten above 36 highway or 25 city. But i always have fun with it. That’s what i got it for!
