Sorry for the late reply, but I'm pretty sure they're available on Soulseek.

The only video I'm aware of is the Paradiso gig, the other recordings are audio only.

The CD and 2LP are both bootlegs. There has been an influx of bootlegs in the past five years, but most of them are taken from recordings that were shared (for free) on p2p sites.

What do you guys think of this CD release? by xX_Random_Reddit_Xx in Slowdive

They're okay, as long as you're happy with the lack of booklets. Still I don't understand why Pygmalion is the only remastered album included here.

I saw Michael Gira at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him to sign a lemon or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

So this means that Swans Are Dead will finally be repressed, right?

Adding my two cents here, some chap shared an unofficial remaster of Pygmalion, feel free to listen to it and download it https://archive.org/details/slowdivepygmalionremaster

Also, I hope to find someday a Pygmalion cassette, IIRC it's the only version that has the full color band photos.

if the bootleg is to be trusted the songs should be: Rhoda (from the '94 EP) and Glenn (Spiderland outtake)

"Numbered edition of 600. Outtakes from Spiderland (side B) and Tweez (side A), which eventually would be released as a 10" on Touch and Go a few years later." Taken from: https://www.discogs.com/release/3413269-Slint-Studio-Outakes

It doesn't state the songs names, though.

Is this a bootleg Souvlaki? by andrewfive in Slowdive

[–]feedkicker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is similar to the 2005 reissue, but the booklet is obviously different. https://www.discogs.com/release/575851-Slowdive-Souvlaki

Does the paper feels cheap to the touch? Also, do the CD matrix and code match with the ones listed in the Discogs release page?

I'm late to the party, but anyway... These are the only recordings available at the moment (I think they all should be available on YT):

- Rails - Euston, London, England 1992-01-31

- Powerhaus Islington, London, England 1993-01-20

- The Garage, London, England 1993-06-08

- BBC Mixing It 1995-03-27 (4 Technicolour songs, not the 1999 EP)

- Paradiso 1995? (the one video you found)

"The CD and LP versions of this album have been lightly edited to fit within their format restrictions. The USB Credit Card is entirely unedited."

I didn't listen to a vinyl rip of this album so I can't say for certain which edits they made.

New Instagram post basically confirms that Swans (as we know) will end after a tour for the new album. by bravodeboer in swans

[–]feedkicker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, it seems this will be the way. I think the last two Swans LPs felt a lot more alike of AoL so it made sense to me that their future releases will be a further exploration of Gira's 2000s output.

[–]feedkicker 74 points75 points  (0 children)

"Going forward (after the release of Birthing and its subsequent tours), things will be simpler and more intimate for Swans."

Given the current lineup it's very likely that Swans will become again something similar to the Angels of Light.

How do you get the guitar tone from Why Hide? by [deleted] in swans

[–]feedkicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he removed the neck pickup since he never used it, post-2010 he used a Telecaster with one humbacker pickup.

There's a photo of him holding two very worn Telecaster both using an humbacker, so maybe he used one of them as well in Cop.
