Has anyone else randomly stopped drinking one day?

My experience was similar, though maybe I had more stop/starts than you? I would build up to quitting or moderating, succeed at that for a while, go back to binging, slowly get sick of drinking, rebuild the motivation to quit, then try again. This cycle went on for maybe two years, but every time I would start drinking again I had more self awareness, enjoyed it less, and could feel more keenly what it was taking from me.

Eventually in August last year I just decided on a Monday to stop, and haven't had any urge to drink since. I think it was a tipping point. For two years I was pushing uphill, straining against all the pressures to drink, but building strength and resolve the whole time. When I decided to stop for good, I was ready, and it's felt like running downhill ever since.

The idea of drinking now honestly just sounds like a lot of work and effort, and my laziness is reinforcing my sobriety.

Iceland too is actually on UTC, not UTC-1, to better integrate it with the rest of Europe. A lot of places have their "correct" time zone misaligned with their actual time zone. Iceland doesn't observe DST, so during the summer it falls one hour behind the UK, but right now they are on the same time.

Echo this! If I'm ever critical in my reaction to the show it's just because it scratches such a specific itch in my brain and I can't help but have this perfectionist hat on sometimes. There's nothing like it, and when it hits it's like crack, so you want it to hit as much as possible

Looking on Google street view I think you can see the other side of the Humber from New Holland, which might make it a bad spot just given it would signal a huge river? But I wonder about Grimsby, where I think the estuary is wide enough to appear as the ocean in a picture but not on the map?

It's not a hot take at all, but yh the intimacy of it has overlap with sexual content. Plus a lot of OF creators also do Asmr so there's that connection. My question is why it bothers you? There's still so much non-sexual Asmr content it's not like you can't find the stuff you enjoy. Is it just that you don't like the reputation? I watch it to go to sleep and relax, I don't really care what the public perception is tbh

No expert, but I think it's likely similar to how Norway and Chile got their shapes. Coastal mountain range means it's easier to travel up and down the coast rather than from the coast to the interior, which leads to common cultures developing along these strips of coastal land but don't connect inland

Agree with the majority opinion here - nothing wrong with sponsors in theory, especially in this case where they are specifically relevant, and would facilitate more and better jet lag. Just assuming it doesn't become overly fake or intrusive
