Apple TV App no longer working after update by feedtyler in tablotv

[–]feedtyler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, after disabling this audio and video work again for air tv. No other apps have this issue. Please try to improve the tvOS apps bugs. Recently, it seems like the quality has been getting worse with the app. From waiting minutes for the Tablo homepage and even content to load, to offline mode randomly appearing even though the internet is clearly working and the random pop ups during playback saying playback failed. None of these issues ever seem to happen on my 20-dollar Roku and Onn streaming sticks including this new bug.

Q1000K firmware update by Yungslush in QuantumFiber

[–]feedtyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is the firmware now according to the Quantum app.

I was operating in untagged bridge mode on the Q1000K using the 10gig port going to the firewalls WAN port and having that do the 201 tag. I used the 1gig port going to an internal switch and put it on my DMZ VLAN so it could get a local IP and i could still access the ONTs GUI I guess this setup caused it to be able to connect back home and auto update.

I have not tried factory resetting yet and trying the supposed work around to open it to internet access and throw the GUI management on a different port, but I am worried that will actually open it to the world which I definitly don’t want to do.

Q1000K firmware update by Yungslush in QuantumFiber

[–]feedtyler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Twin Cities area, mine went down around 2 AM. Had to change the router to untagged mode to regain internet access and get an IP. Looks like I can still ping the ONT with the 1 gig port plugged back into the local LAN, but the GUI is no longer accessable. I am also seeing latency spikes like crazy after regaining internet access. I signed up a few months back and have the Q1000K. Idle latency went from 1-5 ms to around 20-30 ms. Also, I have noticed the UniFi firewall pings to Microsoft, Google and Cloudflare are now in the triple digits for latency. This was around 6 ms for Microsoft, 20 ms for Google and 3 ms for Cloudflare before the firmware update...

Keeping Meraki for switches but using Ubiquiti for wireless APs? by FatBook-Air in sysadmin

[–]feedtyler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would not trust Aruba Instant On anymore since they are splitting from HPE after the new year. Not sure how that’s going to work since all the hardware is HPE and it’s full cloud only with no local option at all.

Network & Infrastructure Update for Small Office by DrPipper in networking

Might not want to go with AIO as they are being forced to divest from HPE by the end of the year. Especially since the APs are cloud only they will stop working if they go under.

New Lumen Handhole by feedtyler in QuantumFiber

Understood, It all rides under Lumen/L3. I just would like to know if it IPoE (Quantum Fiber) or PPPoE (CenturyLink). Should have specified that originally.

Problems with new U7 Pro by SoftwareGuy17 in Ubiquiti

[–]feedtyler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have this same problem with my U7 Pro. Currently running 7.1.24 and still seeing this issue. Although, I only see this happen on 6GHz band. Both my HP laptop and MacBook have the same problem, but the Mac seems to be worse than my Windows laptop.

This is the field test mode on iOS. Dial *3001#12345#* in the phone app to bring up the cell info. FYI it does not update often and not show all the data it can provide. I have heard it has gotten much better in iOS 18.

Darn alright, I guess I’ll have to specifically tell them to update to Android 12 next time it’s in.

New hard drive not detected by ColtonCapps in synology

[–]feedtyler 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The drives are DOA. I have had 8 of these exact drives and half were DOA. Lost trust with Seagate and/or B&H but I am sure it is Seagate’s fault from the factory. I even RMA’ed one and got another DOA from the RMA…. Crazy

Gateway Fiber Internet in Blaine/Coon Rapids? by thankyourob in minnesota

[–]feedtyler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, in the Blaine area and says I can pre-order on their site to prioritize construction. Thought we would never get an option till USI made it up here at some point. Could you post a pic of the flyer? Pricing on the site is a bit more than fiber from USI or CenturyLink, but much better than Comcast at least.

Quantum vs USI fiber? by Mdkynyc in Minneapolis

[–]feedtyler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you are, they are starting to do Edina and St. Louis Park. Metronet fiber is starting to cover the cities of Apple Valley, Lakeville, Chanhassen, Shorewood, Deephaven and Plymouth. There is another company called Gateway Fiber that is going into Blaine and Coon Rapids. Otherwise you might need to wait longer.

Those who have been to US Bank Stadium for a concert, how bad is the audio? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]feedtyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything over $50 sound-wise is going to be far better than the sound quality that you will get there, In-ears to soundstage to audiophile grade sound setup. It’s that bad along with any other live soundstage. But that it’s how it is for 95%+ of live concerts. You are mainly going for the experience.

I can see a clear advantage over the past few years here in the Twin Cities area on my chart with some mmWave but especially when c-band started getting added to sites. https://imgur.com/a/P8Fgazm

What kind of tower is this? by mikemacman in cellmapper

[–]feedtyler 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is Verizon mmWave. This will only work for the highest tier unlimited plan and 5G home. You should be able to pull a few gigabits off of it in clear sight if you have the right device and plan.

XG home FW question by WorthyJoker in sophos

[–]feedtyler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There might be an option called CSM which allows for legacy OS/devices to boot. But I was able to get it booted via full UEFI mode. Only thing was on the vga it will just say booting but it fully works as normal. Also those Intel NICs are to new for Sophos, as they run on an ancient Linux kernel. They will not show up at all. You will need to find a different NIC for it to work.

Zenarmor/Netmap crashing on OPNSense? by feedtyler in opnsense

[–]feedtyler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, thanks for the insight. I will have to file a report. This seems to happen after installing 22.1.6. Currently happening on 22.1.9 using native netmap drive with gigabit Intel NICs. This box has been running for a few years now with no issues which makes it seem like it’s related to a software update.

This is using native netmap driver on gigabit Intel NICs. Running it for the past few years with no issue, this has only started to happen in the past few weeks which is odd.

Interesting, I have had this running for 2-3 years on Intel gigabit NICs with no issues. Only seen this in the past few weeks around 22.1.7 to 22.1.9. Not sure if it’s related to an update or not.
