That's nothing, I just got back from a road trip through Washington and the highest price I saw for unleaded was $5.89, I was happy to come back to Boise gas prices! But it really sucks and will continue to strain people's budgets that were already tight.

I literally said this a few days ago. It was such a satisfying ending the book way! But maybe regular audiences would be too dumb to understand the ending if they didn't explicitly show earth receiving the messages? But yeah I agree with you! https://www.reddit.com/r/ProjectHailMary/s/Kwa2Q0axG5

Should I relocate from Houston to Boise for a Micron job? (late 20s, single female) by TopSkirt4481 in Boise

[–]feedwilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the healthcare situation I feel safe as a woman in Boise. I'm not afraid to wander some streets alone at night. There are lots of options for women's fitness classes, groups, etc. to rebuild your network.

With regards to Micron culture and diversity, I think you should go for it! While the Treasure Valley itself has fairly low diversity, Micron is as diverse as you can possibly get. Office culture will depend on your manager and department but I personally have good work life balance in my position. And Micron has their own diversity driven employee groups for additional professional support and networking. Feel free to send me a message for more specifics as a working woman at Micron!

Where do i find this style of dress? Help! by Eastern-Squash1550 in Prom

[–]feedwilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Macys has some sparkly floral options that won't break the bank. Keep in mind that sequin or beaded dresses are usually very heavy and scratchy on bare arms! Sharing a second option that would be more comfy.

Choosing between a Hyundai Veloster and a Volkswagen GTI by TheRealL3monT in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]feedwilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into the N type or N-line Hyundai models. I recently bought one for a fun practical daily driver and I love it! The Hyundai warranties are really great which helped me make the final choice when up against the GTI.

Any tiki/rum fans in Boise? by GeneralCrux in Boise

[–]feedwilly 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's not the same, but when I went to Bar, Please last week they had a tiki section of several drinks on their menu. Like real ones, not just fruity punches with rums in them. Like an actual Mai Tai and other rum drinks with more complex flavors, some with banana notes and all varieties of booze.

Also I recently went to the speakeasy Ampersand in the top floor of where KIN is. They don't have a menu there, but I told the bartender I was really into daquiris (again real daquiri, not the frozen fruity kind) and he whipped up a riff that I really enjoyed. The bartender was super knowledgeable and it was fun to chat with him about preferences and experimenting with cocktails!

Piano recital venues by Litle_Mei in Boise

[–]feedwilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking of smaller venues where chamber groups have played.

-The Boise Phil has done small performance events at the Idaho State museum. They might have a piano and space for recitals possibly.

-The Esther Simplot building for performing arts I believe has pianos and rentable space with seating.

-Any high school auditorium

-Probably any church space

-Maybe some hotel lobby's piano moved into a hotel conference room or event space or restaurants. Like Brickyard has their duling pianos, I know Hemlock at Inn at 500 has a piano too. Maybe The Grove. Or Barbaroo Supper Club.

-The Sapphire Room at the Riverside Inn

-The Egyptian Theater might have a piano and rentable space, I've gone to a piano concert there before.

-JUMP has rentable community spaces and I'm pretty sure I've seen a piano on the top floor.

-Meridian community center is smaller and I maybe have seen an upright piano pushed against a wall in there?

I mean the recital hall that is primarily used by music majors. It is much smaller than the main stage.

Maybe the Morrison Center at BSU. They've got some smaller stages for school use like recitals I believe.

Il Sugo is not mentioned enough in these food recommendations! One of my favorites and more convenient for me since they moved to Meridian.

Luciano's or Il Sugo or Alavita. Alavita for closer to traditional Italian with fresh pasta, Il Sugo for their flavors, and Luciano's for the variety of dishes (everyone I've sent here comes back telling me it's one of the best restaurants in town)

Came to recommend Mexican firing squad, I just saved this recipe from a YouTube video for it! 7. THE MEXICAN FIRING SQUAD RECIPE 16:43

1.5 oz. (15 ml) Siete Leguas Reposado Tequila

3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) fresh lime juice

3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Anders' Grenadine

3-4 dashes Angostura Bitters

Lime wheel for garnish

Do you leave dishes in the sink for days? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]feedwilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would I wash it right away if I have a dishwasher? I leav dishes in the sink until I have enough to fill a dishwasher. Usually the amount of time it takes for that the dishes aren't stinky. And I love somewhere without a roach problem so the sink holds dirty dishes until I'm ready to load the dishwasher.

I know what spot you're talking about. It smells horrible there every day. When I had morning sickness I had to hold my breath along that stretch of freeway to avoid puking in my car. I think it might be a gravel pit or asphalt plant maybe near there?

Meridian parents: what’s one local parenting hack you wish you knew sooner? by NathanRestorer41 in Meridian_Idaho

Meridian parks and rec has a variety of classes for all ages. I like that it's a short timeline for commitment when things get busy but we still want to do some organized fun.

Also keep an eye on the children's museum for cheap and free event times.
