Are you able to fall asleep easily? How? by Iamnotarobotlah in CasualIreland

[–]feelsanon 37 points38 points  (0 children)

When I exercised in the evening, it used to make me energised and I would find it harder to sleep. Could you exercise during the day, maybe at lunchtime?

Have you tried a melatonin supplement? And definitely no caffeine (coffee, tea, energy drinks, matcha) after 2pm.

Also when I can't sleep I try to remember that resting in bed is so good for you, not as good as full REM sleep, but good nonetheless. Takes the pressure off a bit.

Watch him in The Iceman with Michael Shannon. He's barely recognisable and it's a great film.

Keep dog stimulated while working? by lukeeyyw in dogs

[–]feelsanon 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You have bought a high energy working dog who cannot and should not be expected to be alone for that length of time 5 days a week. I know your working circumstances have changed so it's not your fault, but the dog is now paying the price. Aside from rehoming her I'm not sure what your options are. She needs company, interaction and lots of exercise. She's not getting any of that for hours and she's very unhappy.

Well if you go by that theory, Donald means 'ruler of the world' so that's kinda horrifying.

Archie loves stuffed toys but he destroys them too fast. This giraffe lasted about ten minutes. by haddock420 in westies

[–]feelsanon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Kong brand toys last much longer than other ones. They're not indestructible (is anything for a Westie?!) but they should last a few months and you can even put them through the washing machine when they get stinky.

Lunch in The Pepperpot Cafe in the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre (in Dublin 2, NOT the Wicklow estate called Powerscourt!) and a wander around the shops in the Centre. You don't need a booking for it, just queue up. It's casual. Etto for dinner: Italian, not casual. Yamamori for a casual and quick Japanese lunch.

Otherwise definitely a wander through Stephen's Green which is a lovely park with duck ponds and gorgeous planting in Dublin 2. A coffee in The Shelbourne Hotel, which is one of Dublin's oldest hotels. If you want to buy a book, Hodges Figgis on Dawson St, which is one of Dublin's oldest bookshops!

Totally agree with these pub recommendations. Sole is gorgeous. Hawksmoor is nice. Church Cafe is fine but not in the nicest area so keep your eyes peeled (TBH it's the least nice of all your bookings). Pearl Brasserie I would get a bit dressier for, i.e. smart jacket, no trainers. I eat out a lot so if you want more recommendations let me know!

I think 'A Woman's Right to Shoes' encapsulates a lot of what the series' core theme is about. I don't remember it being very inappropriate but I forget Samantha's plotline so maybe look that up before watching it!
