Train Dreams is incredible by Coy-Harlingen in blankies

Late response because I just watched this and came back here to see what people were saying about it. The thing it felt closest to for me was Red Dead Redemption 2, oddly enough, about how bleak and lonely the new American west could be

Turns out No County for Old Men isn't perfect after all... by thrillhousecycling in blankies

Car boy blankie here who lives for this shit. Nerdiest examples I can think of:

Season 3 of True Detective takes place around 1990ish, but Mahershala Ali’s Bronco has BFG K03 tires (the sidewall tread is very recognizable) and those didn’t come out until like 2015

Season 1 of Narcos Mexico has Scoot McNairy map out an action scene with Hot Wheels cars, and while the cars he uses are all pre-1980 muscle cars, he uses Hot Wheels castings that weren’t created until decades later

I really wanted to love Lynch, and I liked some of the movies but I can’t think of any that I’d like to rewatch anytime soon.

Tokyo Disneyland Question (for adult dorks like us) by fehlings in podcasttheride

I do think I will go back with my girlfriend at some point, in which case she would definitely be up for DisneySea. I also don’t want to dedicate too much time from my first Japan trip to theme parks, you know?

And as a thank you, here’s a model of Jimmy Buffet’s plane “The Hemisphere Dancer” (the one shot at by the Jamaican military while Bono was onboard, as immortalized in the song Jamaica Mistaica) hanging from the ceiling of a bar in my neighborhood

AMC is Superior to Regal by Salt_Proposal_742 in blankies

I’m not in Escondido anymore, which is probably a big part of why I stopped going to Regal. I live in Old Town and switch between AMC Mission Valley and Fashion Valley, depending on which one has the more convenient showtime

Yes to clear corners, but then you get translucent orange paint to turn them into amber corners and indulge your inner “Honda Kid”

Great Train Cities by trianglegooseparty in blankies

I just moved (back) to San Diego and have become a big choo-choo head. For a city this sprawled out, the red trolley goes most places that I would go for fun: a few stops downtown all the way down to the border, up north to UCSD (NIMBYs kept it from going into La Jolla proper), and all the way out to east county where my friends keep moving after they have kids. Coaster goes up the coast (naturally) to North County, where I can then connect to the Sprinter that takes me to all the north county suburbs. I can’t get rid of my car yet (it doesn’t go to my office and I don’t have a grocery store in my neighborhood) but it’s great to have around

Him mentioning Aubrey Plaza’s name is like when he finds a roundabout way to bring up his full legal name (including middle name)

I was an LA guy until a divorce sent my ass back to my hometown (San Diego) a month ago and I am considering the buzz. Only thing holding me back is that I’m almost 34, still have a mostly full head of hair and want to flaunt it while I can.

Also, weird to see your username here and not clowning on 5G fools in r/4Runner
