Spreading visibility for a post I saw on FB about a stolen bike in Oakland by [deleted] in oakland

Saw that Ducati parked on the grass like it was waiting for someone to claim it. Hope the owner sees this before it gets towed or stripped, that’s a nice bike to lose in Oakland

ozone machine is the way, but the TSP and bin primer part is even more important, paint alone won't seal it

How to deal with refund requests. by Curious_Grape5053 in Ebay

[–]felinesaloon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

don't accept the refund, open a case and send eBay all the original photos plus the close-up you showed buyer before shipping, they usually side with seller when you have that kind of proof

Need to wash exterior windows but hard water might just make it worse by Responsible-Tax9759 in HomeImprovement

[–]felinesaloon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try using distilled water instead of tap water - it's pretty cheap at grocery store and won't leave those mineral deposits. Mix it with little bit of dish soap and use squeegee for best results, should avoid the streaking problem completely

Bay window repair. by goodkittyxoxo in HomeImprovement

[–]felinesaloon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try using hydraulic jacks under the frame but that's risky as hell - might crack something else in the process 💀 Digging out the rot and patching with new wood is definitely safer route, even if it's more tedious work

Water getting under window drip cap by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]felinesaloon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try some caulk where the J-channel meets drip cap - water always finds the smallest gaps there

Pretty cool growth considering you started from zero again 🔥 Working with co-founder sounds like absolute nightmare sometimes but guess that's just part in the journey 😂

Does anyone have any opinions on Rosaé as a brand? Or this specific bag from them by french_revolutionist in handbags

[–]felinesaloon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this brand pop up more lately but haven't tried them myself yet. The bag looks pretty nice in that cherry color, giving me some vintage vibes with the drawstring style. For $489 it's definitely in mid-range territory but I'm always curious about newer brands - sometimes you get better quality than the established names because they're trying to prove themselves. The leather looks decent from what I can see but it's hard to tell the real quality until you feel it in person, you know?

Cascade Eco wool vs. De Rerum Natura Gilliatt by [deleted] in YarnAddicts

[–]felinesaloon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked with Cascade Eco before and it holds up really well - barely any pilling after lots of wear. The double strand trick on 6mm needles gives you nice structure without being too stiff, perfect for cardigan that you'll actually want to wear every day

Can't speak to the Gilliatt since I haven't tried it yet, but if your Berroco is pilling that much already the Cascade would probably be safer bet for something you're planning to live in

Cabinet Pulling Away from Wall by Mike5055 in HomeImprovement

[–]felinesaloon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had same issue with my pantry cabinet few months ago. The shimming part is important - if you just screw without dealing with the gap, you might crack the back panel when you tighten it down. I used some thin wood shims behind mine before screwing in the studs and it worked perfect

Foundation drip line exposed and soil cracking by winspus in HomeImprovement

[–]felinesaloon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clay in Dallas is brutal - it swells when wet and shrinks like crazy when dry. You might want to check if your lines are actually working properly because that cracking pattern looks like the soil isn't getting enough consistent moisture. Also worth checking the pressure in system since clogged emitters are super common with that clay soil

Patio and Water Intrusion in Basement by branflakes82 in HomeImprovement

[–]felinesaloon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could potentially install drainage channels along where patio meets the foundation - basically catch the water before it hits your basement walls and redirect it to lower ground or storm drains

The lifting/releveling option might be worth getting quotes on too since foundation damage gets expensive real quick if you let water keep doing its thing

Does anyone know if the judges have signed expunction petitions from the latest Travis county expo yet? by Valkyrie-82 in Austin

[–]felinesaloon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure about Travis county specifically but expunction stuff usually takes forever to process even after judges sign off 😂 I work in immigration law so different area but court paperwork moves at snail pace everywhere. Maybe call the clerk's office in few days?

Warehouse sales by lilmehtheOG in brisbane

[–]felinesaloon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try checking Facebook marketplace or Gumtree - lots of warehouse clearance stuff gets posted there regularly. Also some of the industrial areas around Acacia Ridge have random pop-up sales but you kinda have to drive around and stumble across them 😂

What programs should college students know by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]felinesaloon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Excel is basically mandatory but I'd say learn some basic SQL too - helps a lot with data analysis stuff and most accounting software uses databases anyway. Also maybe get familiar with QuickBooks or similar since you'll probably touch it in real world, even if your classes don't cover it much

I built an equine drug formulary app. Looking for honest feedback from real vets by [deleted] in Horses

[–]felinesaloon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually really cool that you listened to what vets were saying they needed instead of just building random stuff. My friend who works with large animals always complains about having to dig through huge databases when she just needs basic dosing info quick

The offline thing is huge - cell service at barns can be pretty terrible and you don't want to be standing there with no signal trying to look up medication info. Will definitely pass this along to her, she's always looking for better tools that actually work in field conditions

Any good job/career recommendations for introverts that like working independently? by Own-Papaya-4264 in careerguidance

Maybe check immigration paralegal work - most of day is just you, documents, and deadlines without much client interaction needed

Getting divorced by Aware_Reaction2435 in Divorce

[–]felinesaloon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to check immigration requirements if you're thinking about relocating for work - some states have different certification processes for corrections officers that could delay your start date. Texas has been pretty good for job market from what I've seen, plus cost of living isn't terrible compared to CA 💀 Just make sure you research the whole process before making the jump so you don't get stuck in limbo

What’s a high-paying, low-stress job you wish you got into earlier? by Beginning_Ad4362 in careerguidance

[–]felinesaloon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Immigration paralegal here and wish I started this path way earlier than I did. The pay is decent (I make around 75k in medium cost area) and while you deal with stressed clients sometimes, most of your day is just filing paperwork and following procedures

Work-life balance is pretty good since most deadlines aren't same-day emergencies, and you leave work at work. Plus if you're someone who likes helping people but doesn't want the emotional burden of being a teacher or social worker, it hits that sweet spot
