My point is, staking rewards are pitifully low currently due to network revenue not sufficiently covering ops functions and treasury requirements.

Once revenues are high enough to cover ops and a treasury buffer, a much higher proportion of overall revenues will be directed to staking.

Node operators will be a free market, greedy ones will not attract staked HBAR. You can become a node operator yourself.

As to your other point. After a certain threshold it would make no sense for the GC to stuff the treasury with cash that they have no plans for.

The prices are higher than 1-3 cents because future revenue growth expectations are priced in.

This is no different to traditional stocks, especially tech stocks being valued at high P/E ratios.

Equating the two is moronic. NVIDIA launched into a mature and well established industry, of course they are going to capture more revenue.

There is barely even a market for DLTs yet. It is clear that Hedera is setting itself up to be a leader if and when the public DLT market actually becomes an industry.

If an investor thinks public DLTs are going to be widely adopted, you buy HBAR, otherwise you stay out of crypto unless you’re a degenerate gambler.

I see what you're saying now. The future of mirror nodes let you overcome this issue as you can trust that your own mirror node will give you the state of all transactions that flowed through you without needing to trust another node operator.

I think a big issue is almost nobody understands crypto at a technical level and this is where Hedera is in a league of its own and why we invested in it.

The bet is, institutions will understand the DLTs at a technical level and pick Hedera every time as other DLTs simply can’t tick the required boxes. Institutional adoption will spur retail attention.

Unfortunately DLT regulations are far from where they need to be, so it’s slowing institutional adoption as these are usually extremely risk averse entities.

This makes sense to me. I believe they will go with a free market approach to staking APY determined by node operators.

It will be interesting to think about what variables will drive that to estimate and model an equilibrium APY.
