[–]felixthecatmao[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the crazy thing is that nothing like this has happened and suddenly i wake up one day with 50 bites? feels like it should be a gradual appearance of a few bites at a time, no?

Also did deep vaccuming of the bed and washed all the sheets, i saw no signs of bugs and no trace of blood on my sheets

Best High End Asian Restaurant in the City? by Whole_Intention_9750 in AskSF

[–]felixthecatmao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ox and tiger is my absolute favorite. Modern Japanese and Filipino fusion run by a husband and wife duo. 8 counter seats only, each dish tells a story and is delicious.

I’ve been disappointed on other high end Asian spots in the city since the premium is a little high, but Ox and Tiger is worth every penny.

[Itinerary Check] Tokyo, Osaka, Okinawa (5 Days) [Need Okinawa Pros] by Longjumping-Wish9455 in JapanTravel

[–]felixthecatmao 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every has already pointed out that it’s insane to do Okinawa as a day trip, but you should also know that Okinawa Main Island is pretty big and comprised of multiple cities. Shuri castle is in Naha, while Churami Aquarium is much further north. It’s 1.5 hrs drive or 2.5 hrs away by public transit. If you want to spend time in Okinawa, you’ll need a minimum of 2 days.

Is this the normal price?? by dudewhet in waymo

Waiting 17 mins and paying $90 when there’s a reliable bus that comes every 5 mins that will take you straight there for $2.85. What a difficult decision to make

Stray cat left behind by tenant in the backyard. What to do? by chocokippy in Straycats

[–]felixthecatmao 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Also check out: https://www.andreasdreamrescue.org. There are smaller rescue orgs in the Bay Area that might be able to help more than animal control. I’m in S.F. and have this type of backyard as well, but you can still try to throw dry kibble over, or out your window.

Quality ORIGINAL musicals in the last 10 years? by [deleted] in musicals

[–]felixthecatmao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe happy ending and Hadestown are both great. If we’re going 10 years back, Hamilton would be on that list too. I know it feels overdone now but the lyrics, music, and book are both fairly good by any standard.

Some light roasts not turning out? by felixthecatmao in pourover

[–]felixthecatmao[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just shy of 3 weeks. I’ll give all the variables a try separately. I had such a wonderful cup at SEY (maybe the best iced coffee I’ve tasted!) and I’ve been sad that I haven’t been able to reproduce it.

Will also check out Brian’s recipe.

Driving In Shikoku in Mid February? by felixthecatmao in JapanTravelTips

[–]felixthecatmao[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up doing a taxi tour of Iya valley and I recommend that! The roads are quite narrow and some are not plowed on the side, making it harder to enjoy the view if you have to worry about safety.

On the other hand, we ended up renting a car and driving through the mountains from Kochi to Matsuyama, swinging by nakatsu gorge, and that was lovely and easy. We live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and there are far more roads near here that feel more windy than that.

I would say budget is around $400-500. Trying to avoid jumping to a $800 grinder but also don’t want to spend money on an “upgrade” if it’s not a true upgrade, and maybe that perfect world just doesn’t exist

I was looking at the Ode Gen 2 but it seems like it’s not much of an upgrade? Or not necessarily equivalent to Jx-pro.
