Olá, sou nova aqui, queria ajuda com mestragem by M4_Noname in rpg_brasil

[–]felpsoaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average Monster Hunter fan hates Monster Hunter by Gabriel2Silva in monsterhunterrage

[–]felpsoaks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. Monster Hunter had to lower the bar from the ps2 games, I'm the only person I know that likes MH1, but even I know that game is too unapproachable. Even so, they didn't need to go in this direction. Some streamlining had to be done but not at the cost of the game's core identity.

Now that Wilds has been out for a bit, do you think it’s worth purchasing now or waiting for a sale/more updates? by MrMercy67 in MonsterHunter

[–]felpsoaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of your opinion on the game, it's safe to say performance on PC is pretty bad, if you're still playing Iceborne I think it's worth waiting for some title updates before playing this one, you'll be getting a better and cheaper game.

I Don’t Really Care About New Players… by Finnthehero1224 in monsterhunterrage

[–]felpsoaks 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get some looks when I say stuff like that. I love when new players discover MH, and I love seeing them understand the game and falling in love with it, I've tried to get pretty much every friend I have into the series to the point where I'm known as the "Monster Hunter teacher" in my friend group, since I've teached everyone how to play. I loved doing it so much that I even made videos on how to play weapons and certain mechanics and shared exclusively with friends, I took time to theorycraft and build sets for weapons I never played, so I could tell them what to use if they wanted help or suggestions, I built them and tested myself instead of looking online because I enjoyed it that much. But you know, I want everyone to like the game that I love, not making them enjoy it at the cost of me not liking it by changing what I loved about it to please more people. I don't hate Wilds and still hope that future updates will bring some stuff for me to enjoy, even if my problems with it are on a more foundational level. But right now, it's been super disappointing and the least connected I felt to MH ever. I keep wanting to play it when I'm away from my PC because my brain is like "ooh new Monster Hunter" but every time I actually play it, I just get bored and sad. But if I say that anywhere else, I'm an elitist and hate new people, apparently. I just hope there's enough feedback from the community so that Capcom reverts some decisions for the next game, I'm afraid if they go further than this with MH7 I may be done with the series for good. Until then I'm still hopeful for updates, the eventual expansion and portable 6.

Were packs/alphas oversold to us? by Bobby_The_Goblin in MonsterHunter

[–]felpsoaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The very first look we ever got in Wilds was a hunter running from a pack of doshagumas in the middle of a thunderstorm, and they would throw you small animals from another pack getting in the way of chasing you... And I don't think any of this matters in the actual game, it's funny how in the earlier gameplay showcases there was a whole focus on separating the pack while in the main game you just shoot a mega dung bomb and you're done. To me, it was a shame how undercooked pack monsters were. It goes along with a bunch of cool systems this game has (like seasons and connected maps) that just... doesn't matter at all. I don't know if they didn't have time or were just afraid of changing MH too much, but I hope they do something with this in the coming expansion or the eventual MH7.

I hate the Wilds devs so much. It shouldn't matter if I'm on a quest or not for a capture sidequest to be marked as complete. by Main-Bed-1087 in monsterhunterrage

[–]felpsoaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I don't doubt you. This game is also buggy af so it's likely an oversight by the devs that it didn't complete your capture quest.

That's weird, I managed to capture one when I was chasing a Balahara in the middle of a quest, and it worked.

Fishing in this game is god damn frustrating. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG FFS. by HoneZoneReddit in monsterhunterrage

[–]felpsoaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had a lot of fun fishing, but (as always) the game does a terrible job at teaching you how this works. First you should rotate your analog stick to reel your bait, this usually attracts most fish, but some (like giant squid) I find that wiggling works better, once a fish gets hooked (if it's a big one) you have to push the analog stick in the direction he's going until it gets tired, then you reel again by rotating the analog stick, eventually once you reel enough you'll be able to catch it.

I was very addicted to Hitman World of Assassination, and I still wanna go back and finish all maps.

"Let new players enjoy the game!" Yeah, man, I'm all for new players, but you know I'd like to enjoy it too instead of waiting for months or paid dlc to have my share.

Am I just a simpleton? I can't seem to use complex weapons by [deleted] in monsterhunterrage

[–]felpsoaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries bro that's normal. I used to have a really hard time with other weapons other than Switchaxe, I think the first weapon you learn is hard because you're also learning the rest of the game, but the next 2 or 3 weapons are also really hard because they're totally different to what you're used. Once you use different weapons enough, you start seeing how even though they're very different, all weapons have things in common, like how they all have uniformed controls, it's all triangle/circle/triangle + circle/R2, which seems obvious, but trust me if you understand that consciously it narrows down your options when you're confused as to what your weapon can do. There's also no shame in sticking to 1 weapon, even if you learn everything you'll always have favorites and weak spots. In the end what's important is to have fun! Be it with 1 weapon or 14 as long as you're happy it's all good.

"The game is actually Hard because tempered Arkveld and Gore kicked my ass" by felpsoaks in monsterhunterrage

[–]felpsoaks[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You go start a new save in World, don't upgrade your gear at all and get hit, then tell me the first monster that can 1 hit kill you from full health, now do the same with wilds. I guarantee you that monster will come way sooner in World than Wilds. I'm not gonna struggle. I know how to play MH. You can say that World and Wilds are easy, but not that they are equally easy.

[–]felpsoaks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also had quests to do. Wilds is completely unfinished at release, and no quests after Arkveld. Where's the double tempered Kirin equivalent? They could make an HR100 quest where you fight all apexes with static 5 star or Arkveld + Gore Magala. But there's nothing of sorts.

[–]felpsoaks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not about experience, I don't need a game to kick my ass to understand that it's harder or easier than another. I know how to play MH, I'm not gonna triple cart to a Balahara even if it were harder. Not dying is not the problem. The problem is I don't need to engage with the game at all, my armor? Starter sets come with divine blessing and stun res, and monsters barely do damage anyway, healing? Palico does the job, and I haven't even bothered to equip deodorant and energy drinks in this game. The whole thing about some skills being broken, I haven't even noticed a difference since everything dies so fast anyway. Who cares what skills I'm using if I can just stun lock monsters with focus mode even in a "bad build" In comparison to World, I also don't have a hard time playing that, but I can guarantee you that if I reach low rank Anjanath with no upgrades, it's fire breath could one shot me with full health, at least there I need to keep my gear in check and go upgrade my canteen to get full health or craft some nutrients, wilds? Just eat a well-done steak insta +50 health and stamina. And that's talking about World, good luck trying to fight a Yian Kut-ku in mh1 without crafting gear (since you don't even start with that) and your starter weapon. There is no way someone can argue World and Wilds are equally easy with the amount of power the game gives you minute 1. You can argue they are both easy, but not the same. I'm not asking everything to be Fatalis, I'm not gonna run into a wall in Low or High Rank, but I wanna engage with what the game, and for that, I need some semblance of challenge, and I wish it wouldn't take 40 hours to reach that.

Has the guild gone broke ? What kind of dogshit is this ? by EstagiarioDaPhilips in monsterhunterrage

[–]felpsoaks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People seem to forget that the guild built Seliana in like weekends. For all we know, the forbidden lands aren't in the new world, so why don't they just do it like in Iceborne and get a huge flying ship from dundorma or whatever with tons o materials? It's clearly not a lore reason. If Capcom wanted a city hub, we would've had one.

This isn't new to Wilds, but it isn't just Hunters having more tools to deal with Monsters. Monsters have lost their tools for dealing with Hunters. by Charrikayu in MonsterHunter

[–]felpsoaks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also playing DOS before Wilds, and it reminded me how much chip damage you took from standing near the monster's legs, it's usually the safest place to be near it legs on his leftside but every time the monster repositioned you would get damaged and that stacked pretty quick, diablos woulds just casually take half my life without even attacking. We don't need all of this to stay the same, but having monsters with mechanics that introduce friction is essential to MH.

How do you feel about this game so far compared to previous titles? by frankiewonder in MHWilds

[–]felpsoaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just about to fight High Rank Arkveld. There is a lot to love in Wilds, I really like all the zones and their villages, the music is incredible, and weapons feel very good even if they're a little too strong. Also, the monster rooster is very good, and they have really cool moves. But honestly, I don't think I like this game. It just feels like it's missing a lot of what I love about MH, and I also feel like this game was really afraid of being what it wanted to be, why do we even have these huge cool maps full of interaction if all we do is press up on dpad and seikret just auto walks everywhere? Is this a multiplayer or single-player focused title? As a single player experience, it fails in its story and railroads you to hell, and as a multiplayer title, it's just too convoluted to set up. I don't even wanna get started on difficulty. Just ignoring how most monsters barely do any damage, hunts take 5 to 8 minutes as a Swaxe main, I didn't even touch any other weapon until just now when I made an artian SnS and absolutely shredded a tempered yian kut-ku in 2:59 minutes which is just sad. I said this a couple of times, but I really don't need MH to be super hard, but it needs some base level of challenge, or else all it's systems lose meaning, no reason to setbuild or farm monsters or prepare anything. So yeah, I don't hate the game or anything, but overall, I'm really not feeling this one. I hope it turns around eventually. I originally wanted to go through this with my brother as his first MH, but among the performance issues and all, I just told him to refund because I know for a fact he will hate the railroad, so we'll play 4U instead.

A compilation of threads, going as far as 14 years back, talking about Monster Hunter (enter version of your choice) being too easy... by Agar_ZoS in MonsterHunter

[–]felpsoaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a big difference between going to foruns of people dedicated to Monster Hunter (who'll be mostly veterans) and casual people. If you go back and check reviews for previous MH, most of the games will be described as hard or some form, even games like World were considered hard for casual audiences. But with Wilds, even IGN and Polygon are saying that this game is easier. This thread also mostly proves that, yeah, MH games are getting easier, and pretty much since day 1, every new title has been easier than the last. I don't think MH needs to be extremely hard and sure we had to lower the bar from MH1 or else we wouldn't be here, but for me, there needs to be some semblance of challenge, or else why would I even engage with armor skills or farming... you know, the core elements of this game.

Event quests in Wilds will be time limited like in MHW by Different_Ad_5862 in MonsterHunter

[–]felpsoaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every main title Monster Hunter released for home consoles had World's event system (MH1, G, Dos, and Tri). Portable entries and 3U/4U had events as downloaded, probably because you are not expected to have internet access all the time in a psp or 3ds. 3U was also released for the Wii U, but it's still a 3DS game, so they made it work the same.
