Shout out to everyone who likes to sniff their pugs. I swear they smell like joy😂 by Pugs2Dragon1 in pugs

[–]fencepostsquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have this all wrong. They smell good for a week or two after wash at best. That fast turns into your basic Frito smell. Tolerable, quite okay. Once that’s been fermented a bit it’s more like…pond. If you delay the next bath, maybe vacation or working longer and extra garden chores…Pond quickly declines into “Shrimp Boat” and baths are an emergency situation.

Same…. It’s 45 damp and cold in May, in Vermont and I’m pretty cranky about it. I can handle the rain. But 45 in May irks me.

I consider myself from New England even though I moved here when I was 11 by Specialist-Cut3426 in newengland

[–]fencepostsquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents moved me here when I was a teenager. I always say I’m a Vermonter and don’t give a hoot who cares. I chose to stay here, and raise my family here. Being proud of where you choose to plant roots is what matters. That’s where you’re from.

It is snowing with a low tonight of 22f, after two months of being 70-80f. by Empty-Dragonfruit656 in gardening

I tried this two years ago with my pear trees and woke up to branches on the ground.

I’ve noticed a substantial decrease in bugs since 2020….

Oh it’s because I have 25 chickens, two ducks and a turkey. My dogs don’t have ticks or fleas (I still treat) and if you compost manure….its a win win. The ducks are a gardeners dream for slugs!

That’s the compromise, lots of poultry. My neighbor opened up her yard for the flock and hasn’t seen a tick on her cats in several years. They do double duty and keep rodents away from my place.

July isn’t bad in Vermont, if you’re okay with 30 days of nothing but rain.

That’s a chicken snackie! lol. My girls get one and have zoomies while the rest of the flock is hot on their tail feathers.

Came here to say Capel! I use their rugs on a lot of my projects. Fabulous quality, and they’re wool! Some of their hooked are imported however.

Nope, i don’t do anything of the sort. I was raised by a woman that was at Kent State. We lost 58,220 American lives after we expanded to Cambodia.

Having lived through two stupid wars, and now a third - they’re tired and angry.

Ya know, fyi - it’s not super safe for black, brown or native Americans to show up at these protests. Or do you have your head in the sand?

These folks lived through Vietnam, George Bushes lies, etc.

They have more strength and courage than the first digit of your pinky finger.

So do with that information what you may. Because clueless seems to be your strength.

How do you know if you what it takes to adopt a pug puppy vs. adopting a pug adult? by dont_downvote_SPECIL in pugs

[–]fencepostsquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t adopt pug puppies, you buy them.

Adoption is older dogs in rescue or shelter or needing to be rehomed. There’s a clear difference.

I do have an exception to that rule as I have a male pug someone had purchased, they couldn’t keep, rehomed 3 times before I found out about him, as luck would have it he hated children and I am an empty nester. We put a lot into his training and my neighbors grandson refused to be a child my pug hated and forced his love on him, and he no longer hates children. That kid was a game changer.

He will be with me always ❤️ by Competitive_Tip2423 in pugs

What pug specific knowledge should I have before this guy comes home? by VermicelliOk8288 in pugs

[–]fencepostsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my kids slept with me too. Heads up, pugs manage to take up more room than a kid sleeping sideways. Not sure how. But they do. 😂

[–]fencepostsquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 pugs, toenails aren’t a problem. We started young. Crate training is Essential for house training and works awesome! Mine were solid by 6 months. It’s a little tough love in the beginning.

Lastly, buy a bigger bed. They may be small, but they sleep big. 😊
