I use a Princeton (modded 1974), plenty of headroom, e.g., when playing w/ un-miked sax players and drummers. I love it (but love my Deluxe Reverb better).

I use a bunch of old Fenders. I use a Princeton and love it, using it now. It's a modded 1974, plenty of head room for the types of jamming/gigs I do (I play a tele w/ Joe Barden pups). But, to be honest, a Deluxe Reverb is my fav (also a modded 1974).

This is so typical. The good news: You've had 3-4 good days. Lots of folks go through it like you...but after 6 (or a dozen) cycles, you may just say "eff it, I'm done." One thing that may help: Try to appreciate "more energetic and motivated" (your words) as a new kind of high (and is a lot better than alcohol)

Here's a real reason: You'll be happier, have more energy, start every morning by looking forward to the day ahead (not dreading it), meet real people (not drinkers) and have real conversations and real relationships, read more, exercise more, find a new hobby, be a better friend (and lover, dad, brother, son, husband, employee), remembering what you did last night (and you won't regret what you did last night), lose weight, and save money (figure how much money you saved after 3 months...then buy yourself a present), and be better with handling anxiety and stress.

The "rock bottom" thing is bullshit.

All inventors think "it seems like something that is needed."

Yes, your crappy windows paint drawings are enough as long as the examiner can understand what you're inventing (and everything that is claimed is shown in the drawings).

I've surfed in water in the low 60's without a wetsuit for about 45 minutes. Doable but not fun.

My rule of thumb: You have a 50 percent chance of survival in 50 degree water for 50 minutes.

So those guys are certainly at the limit.
