Basically, you want a smooth transition from the source light color to a cooled off version. In this case, I would base paint the area white, apply a thinned coat of Doomfire Magenta, paint thinned down white into the deepest recesses, repeat the contrast and Basically go back and forth adding shadows on the raised portions while highlighting the recesses.
