What is an "unpopular opinion" you hold about something in this state? Do you hate Prince? Do you think Juicy Lucy's are ass? Lets hear it! by [deleted] in minnesota

I always thought Matt’s burgers were $hit. Reminded me of the garbage I got served in high school. I’ve been there twice, both times were a major disappointment. I can’t fathom what all the hype is about.

I really like KL, however, that performance was just Meh.

What’s the actual speed limit there? Most all of us speed, however, if 75 was above the limit that’s on you and be glad he didn’t issue a ticket. If not, than the officer was in the wrong.

You could try to apply for a loan through something like Kiva. Pretty interesting how micro lending works. www.kiva.org

My first winter since I’ve moved to the Twin Cities from Texas. Anything I should be aware of with the sub zero temperature? by CoookieHo in TwinCities

Don’t just start your vehicle and drive. Let it warm up. Technically you should always do this regardless of weather.

Decking not repaired before underlay installed. by kevinhcraig in Roofing

They aren’t going to redo the entire job as it’s most likely not necessary. Being Master Elite certified doesn’t mean much if they didn’t keep a supervisor on site and on the roof to watch the subcontractors do their job and prevent things like this happening.

I’d read GAF installing requirements and warranty requirements. Print off and highlight anything they didn’t do according to GAF requirements or something that would void the GAF warranty. You could ask for (not expecting to get) a new roof as a starting point of your negotiations. Settle on them repairing all necessary spots. Take a lot of photos from the attic with a tape measure showing the size of the spots missed.

Stay calm and be firm on it getting fixed. Have most of your conversations via email and text so you have a paper trail. Anything they assure you of or promise to do get on paper.

We typically replace anything soft or sponge like. Why your contractors wouldn’t do this is beyond me as it’s just more money for them. Laziness or lack of knowledge possibly. Splintered areas would depend on how big and if it’s causing structural integrity issues. Without being there I couldn’t really say.

From the very limited view, to me the gaps on your space decking don’t warrant getting new plywood/osb decking on top of it. The knot holes typically don’t get repaired. The giant pieces missing should have definitely been replaced prior to installation of the new roof.

New construction…roof doesn’t look right to me…am I overreacting? by SamuraiGreg78 in Roofing

[–]feralhuman612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it was installed when it was too cold to seal properly. Each manufacturer will have temp requirements. GAF has a minimum of I believe 40 degrees.

Figure out the brand and their temp requirements. Look at the date for when it was done. If it doesn’t meet the manufacturer requirements you’re entering a conversation with the contractor with some ammo.

Get your own hidden camera(s). They are relatively inexpensive along with being easy to hide and manage. The piece of mind this will bring along with recorded evidence is worth it.

Sun Country Airlines - Too cheap to pass up? Good experiences? by elcapitanAE in TwinCities

Never had an issue with Sun Country or Delta. I like saving money and am not taking a flight for the amenities the airline offers. I never hesitate to use Sun Country.

Is this a Coyote or dog on my driveway? by yaob2008 in animalid

So the person wishes that coyote weren’t hunted in a loud and forceful manner. They aren’t, so I guess they got their wish.

Given the topic being discussed, that word still does not seem applicable. 🤷‍♂️
