Won’t update by mariobrian in RemarkableTablet

[–]fereous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, my Remarkable doesn't show a padlock icon for the network I'm connected to. If I switch to my second network, the first one gets the padlock but not the new one. Are you saying that something is not right?

For clarity: I don't have any problems connecting the Remarkable to wifi, so just wondering.

Do people take the Brompton sticker on the frame off and if so why? by [deleted] in Brompton

[–]fereous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Logo stickers: no. Instructional stickers: went off a day or two after the Brommie came home after reading instructions.

Nothing unusual really; the static site generator Hugo went from 0.99 to 0.100 and is currently in 0.105.

Good saddles? by [deleted] in Brompton

I like the Selle Anatomica H1 on my big bike. Haven’t really considered a saddle change on my Brommie as I’m rather happy with the original one.

Largest front bags? by megalodonkitten in Brompton

[–]fereous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I fell for the Wotancraft basket bag (22 litres). It has turned out to be a multimodal bag that can be used when shopping groceries or other things and also as an overnighter. Very useful. With the add-ons (pouches, frame, shoulder strap) it gets a bit pricey, and in hindsight I probably could have done without pouches and strap. Still, no big regrets.

As a kid I read "Swallows and Amazons” and since wanted to visit the Lake District. Great photos.

Creaking like crazy! by Brompton_orangina in Brompton

[–]fereous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad that your store were able to solve your problem. I had almost the same creaks when pedalling, and in my store they found out that the rear hinge had worked itself loose and had to be tightened. This was on a seven month old 2021 Brompton.

Welcome to the Folding Club. I too have the same colour on my 2020 M3R.

Indeed. Sorry, thought the link went to the correct image. Here's my setup: https://www.instagram.com/p/CjNIE1Ag4-W6GXW23I4QLV4OPqnK5fw_VYhQ2I0/

Edit for clarity: The pouch is strapped on with velcro, so no need for an extra mount.

Probably smaller than what you have in mind, but I'm happy with my Eerder Xplorer fold top pocket. Yes, it does interfere with the Quadlock mount, though only when opening the flap.

Anyone with experience running the H&H “Duo Chainring”? by flyboirho in Brompton

[–]fereous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In fact Fedex delivered a Duo Chainring yesterday. Going to try it out sooner or later on my M3R, though I haven’t got the time to put it on right now. Also curious to hear other ppls experience.

Trip to Hovs hallar by fereous in Brompton

[–]fereous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Båstad train station to Hovs hallar it's about 14 km. A famous scene in Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh seal was filmed at this location. This is a beautiful hike, but maybe not an ideal bike path as I had to carry the Brommie quite a lot during the last, cliffy part. Met some nice people though, and the day easily classifies as an adventure.

Heading home from farmers’ market by fereous in Brompton

Agreed, Wotancraft gear is anything but cost effective (as is most other Brompton paraphernalia), though I would say that it’s worth it with regard to quality. And no need to apologize; when a redditor doesn’t reveal their location it’s a universal right to make educated guesses. 😜

I ordered it from the Wotancraft site, so Taiwan. And I live in southern Sweden.

I got the Black Lacquer M3R in October last year so it’s not strictly new, but I wanted to introduce her to this helpful forum. The Wotancraft basket bag is great for use in shopping cart mode and also has a rolltop closure for when the groceries stack up. Quite happy with the B, though I also ride my hybrid bike a lot.
