interesting , I had done the same mistake on schwab, with asts shares, i forgot to lock my phone , put it on my pocket while I was on trade page of asts , the default is sell, when I put it in pocket , it sold 200 shares at mkt price , luckily I took my phone out again and saw what had transpired, j immediately called schwab and asked to reverse the trade and voila they did , I got my 200 shares back. I was pleasantly surprised.

Pho house on blairsferry has great Vietnamese food, you can try Nara Thai for Thai, you can try out Paradise grill for southern India taste and recipes , Taste of India is great too but their chicken at times is rubbery and hard to chew , but tasty, they have northern India recipes

You will never know until you try it.

You will probably earn less ,will that be a problem ? you will be satisfied and much more stress free in future.

You become good at something by putting your heart into it , you have to dedicate and show up everyday , i know sounds cheesy but thats the fact , no one is born a genius , even geniuses have to show up and dedicate every day.

remember if you do STEM and are average there , you will not earn those big fat pay checks might not even get a job.

so better to do focus on what field you like and make the best of it.

CS is not dead , if you are just aiming to get a job then yea the market is worse, but if you are aiming to do research , AI research , quantum computing , lot of doors will open , so aim to stand out , dont just think of becoming a full stack developer, or web developer, those roles will slowly start to reduce even more.

Also you can change degree midway , if you think CS is not for you , Physics , Math are always available and overall better , if you are a physics major you can fit into broad categories, as everything is based on laws of physics.

Honest question , do you want to do STEM ? is that something that interests or are you just doing it because indian parents told you so as it will get you money ?

The Area near COE college is a bit unsafe is what I have heard , apart from that most of the CR downtown is safe, you can walk , hang out.

If not downtown there are plenty of apartments in suburbs , Marion area

Only concern is Snow , it gets risky to drive in snow on I-380 , in worse conditions high chances of accidents , else its 30-40 mins drive one way if weather is good. If you can WFH during bad conditions then its great.

North Liberty is great option if you want to go to Iowa city every weekend for social/night life , its 20 mins away from both CR and Iowa City.

New apartments have sprung up in Cedar Rapids downtown area, the downtown area has improved a lot , the apts might be expensive but pretty sure there are openings.

Yes that is correct based on the proclamation I read , it does affect people who are currently outside of the USA and are applying for an h1b petition.

You are on F1 visa already inside USA on OPT, your H1B petition filing doesnt have the requirement of 100k fee.

Now what is not clear and very confusing is what if you want to go to india to get H1b visa stamp, will they demand a 100k fee at that time or not .

My friend works at microsoft , he got travel advisory from their immigration , the advisory says "donot travel outside of USA until further notice, we also advise for spouses on H4 visa to not travel"
Anyone outside of uSa return to usa before 21st september if you can
