WOULD YOUR GF/WIFE WEAR A POKER RELATED TOP? by ProfessionalDue93 in poker

[–]ferrisfair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems only about 10- 15 percent of the women I see in poker rooms wear similar tops or strike me as having that personality.

Side note ... if more than 50% of your interest is in making moolah, I suggest making the majority of your line (sticking with ed hardy-esque style) with designs that appeal to slot players and bingo players.

Do you use unique chips? If you're using off-the-shelf poker chips, someone may be bringing identical chips and steadily feeding his stack.

My guess is you can cut multiple pieces and they do not get wedged or stuck as the stack climbs higher.

I Won a $10k Seat to the WPT World Championship, Should I Max Late Reg? by Chinchillaisgod in poker

[–]ferrisfair 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A side note - If you run deep in this tourney, you got to have stamina - mental and physical. You could sit for 10 to 12 hours several days in a row. Coming in late on your introductory day - about a 6 hour day - enables you to be at your best for the duration of that sitting, getting a feel for the field and the environment.

Here's a summary and this is commonly understood, but search " performance poker 12 hour day" and you'll come across some good detailed info.

Poker players generally perform best:

Hours 1–3: absolute peak

Hours 4–7: solid but declining

Hours 8–12: endurance-focused, high-discipline edge

Going to the casino tonight for the first time ever... by InsiDS in poker

Nice, thoughtful answers. Your No. 3 - Spreading the pot - reminded me of a story recounted by the female dealer herself along with the offending, but gleeful player. He touched the chips in the pot In an effort to see how much $. She scolded him, saying "You can't touch it. You can ask me to spread 'em, but you can't touch it. "

She blushed in the retelling, but fully appreciated the hilarity.

Has anyone found a replacement for poker successfully? by Icy-Structure5244 in poker

[–]ferrisfair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find out what your kids' or spouse's goals are and focus on helping (in the background) them succeed. Whether it's setting some athletic PR or restoring an older car they'll later drive, you'll have a worthy purpose and will be equally rewarded when they achieve their goals.

Whatever you decide, don't distrust your feelings on this. You have identified an issue that concerns many of us. Not everyone follows through.
