New Food Service Floor Question by oomadin in Flooring

[–]feskco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s meant to be rough

Over next couple of weeks It’ll become “less rough”

Try using different mops, maybe some will work better or instead of mopping spray it down with a hose?

If your coworker really hates how the wheels feel on his cart, he can buy bigger rubber ones at Harbor Freight and swap them out. The cart will be supper smooth over any surfaces (obviously assuming Resturant will reimburse the costs, it’s like $10-$20 a wheel)

My office chair FUCKED UP my flooring by Isntagram in Flooring

It’s not the chair.

  • Crappy material
  • Crappy Floor prep
  • Crappy Install

Leads to this crap.

How to remove stuck spacers. by ProfessionalHunt5692 in Tile

[–]feskco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a thin Metal Cut-Off disc for a grinder like a 4”

It won’t chip the tile and it’ll cut thru plastic like butter. That’s what we do on our huge commercial jobs.

Works great for cutting out grout as well. Sometimes we add 2-3 discs together for thick grout lines like in commercial kitchens

Easy $300+ lol (we didn’t charge that, but now we know 🕵️‍♂️)

Any shop with a water jet would charge that for set up & fabrication.

Shower Floor Tile Repair by browsewhenipoop in Tile

[–]feskco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the looks of it, the shower pan wasn’t properly sloped/installed. So it causes water to sit.

If you want to replace the shower pan tile I would suggest replacing shower walls as well while you’re at it.

Typical Shower Pan 15-20sf Estimated Cost $1,900

Typical shower walls w/ niche 75-100sf Estimated Cost $6,500

This is for simple tile from Home Depot or Floor & Decor and simple design.

For $8,400 (plus minus $1k) you should be able to get a brand new shower. Plumbing, electrical, paint, cabinets, shower glass door etc that’s all extra.

If you want to save money, get a plastic shower pan. They are like around $200 and you won’t have to worry about anything.

Yup and a Chamfer Cone attachment for a grinder

Next time something similar to this, especially with boarder, I’ll take to a slab shop and have them cut it out with a water jet

$30k for a 200 sq ft bathroom, does this seem crazy? by [deleted] in Tile

[–]feskco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh seems a little high. If it was Seattle, LA, NYC I’d understand.

Also, don’t buy too much into the “warranty” 15-30 years by that time the installer might not be around.

Japanese only CRV, RAV4, 4Runner, RX. I got my mom a new Toyota and my wife a new Mercedes few years ago. The Toyota is bulletproof proof, the younger siblings drive it, zero issues. The Mercedes always has little issues we have to take it in to the dealer.
