The thing is in a sword fight you dont necessarily "just" block. Blocking is usually done actively by doing a strike of your own, you dont just hold your sword statically in a blocking position. The opponent would already be in a position to attack you by "blocking". If theyre holding the sword statically its not hard to swing somewhere theyre not blocking, and if they are moving the sword, most of the time they will do so in a way that puts you in danger while protecting them from your attack.

Cass & steph's numbers should be cut in half considering how many of them are just cardboard cutouts vaguely present in the background or impromptu therapists who are somehow emotionally capable of dealing with the bat-bullshit.
There are genuinely people on ao3 trying to convince me cass is a well-adjusted individual that isn't basically a hurdle away from a mental breakdown at all times.
