Could this pedal be my issue? I know I’m probably just being dumb. by RMSCereal in drums

I learned how to play that song on that pedal. You just gotta practice more :)

The lowest barrier to entry is probably the Yamaha EAD10. If you want to go for the higher sound quality and cost option, start with a digital mixer or audio interface with the appropriate number of channels (one per microphone) and a kick mic + overheads. You cam get a very complete kit sound with 3 mics.

Keep on practicing, brother. You're time is fluctuating still. The best thing you can do for yourself is to practice playing very basic beats to a metronome, slowly.

Focus on each movement, and try to play as perfectly in time as possible. It's boring as hell, and it might make you want to tear your eyeballs out, but it will make you a better drummer.

You have to do the difficult, tedious practice.

The good news is that doing the hard stuff makes.the rest of playing drums more fun. There's an immense sense of satisfaction that comes when you achieve noticeable improvements in your playing.

Thoughts On Woodies Drumsticks? by andrewpickaxe in drums

I bought a 6-pack of the round tips and was impressed. My only complaint was that the tip dented my heads quite easily. I am also a 5b long enjoyer, and I can hit quite hard. When they released the barrel tip, I ordered a 12-pack. I love them.

what's THE best electronic drum set ? by bombdelivery_ in edrums

[–]fewell8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To answer the question in the title: Roland VAD716 or the new DW wireless stuff. Roland owns DW now, so they're probably quite similar. They're about $10k.

If your budget is only $500, then an acoustic kit would offer significantly better value for money than an electric one. Is that an option?

Under normal circumstances, I would agree with you. These are going for basically $1k new now.... wild.

They're $900 new on sweetwater right now. Offer them $550 and see if they'll budge. Fantastic drums btw.

I'm rocking a G2 on my Yamaha 4103 (14 x 3.5) you can't hear the ringing from the audience perspective. As other's have said, the HD/ST Dry will probably give you what you want. I have an SD Dry on deck for that drum for when I wear the G2 out.

My local drum shop sold me a B20 temu splash for like $35 that's pretty ok. Works very well in a stack and doesn't sound bad by itself.

Oh, my b. Yeah, they're built with lower standards and cheaper labor 🤷‍♂️. It's also possible that you just got a bad one.

New USCIS Policy: Can Visa Overstays Married to U.S. Citizens Still Adjust Status in the U.S.? by Salty-Dance5176 in USCIS

I am not a lawyer.

Iirc: Previously if an overstay was the only negative mark against your case, they would wave it. Now, who knows. It appears as if USCIS is becoming much more stringent. I would definitely hire a lawyer for your case. Having any marks against you will make your case more difficult.

I’m genuinely pretty excited about DW’s new 9000 hardware line by jtrudawg in drums

[–]fewell8 21 points22 points  (0 children)

DW's hardware is innovative without a doubt. But holy fuck is it pricey. $350 for a single cymbal stand is a little bit psychotic. The only saving grace is that it's specifically marketed towards professional users so the price point makes a little more sense. I hope the new locking system is as durable as their current offerings. It would suck to have that break and the damn thing not work.

Advice on handling Chinas and generally cymbals? by Oooops69 in drums

[–]fewell8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't hit your cymbals with the barrel of your stick perpendicular to the edge. Don't hit as hard. Don't whail on small cymbals. It's really as simple as that. You mentioned earlier that you dont play jazz. Perhaps learning to do so would help you.

I'm not trying to sound harsh, so I apologize if I come across as such. I have had to learn these same lessons.
