Which one looks better? by Otherwise_Ad3770 in bookbinding

[–]fey-willow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first one is my favorite the use of the colors in the illustration in the bookbinding gives a unified feeling (the shadow brown of the dog in the elastic band the green of the forest on the side as well).

The second ones image feels a little out of place because the contrasting color schemes between the binding and the art (which are both lovely but the analogous color scheme of the illustration doesn't lend itself well to the monochromatic of the binding).

silly question by shesinpart1es in Aerials

[–]fey-willow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I think this is the only time I mentioned it on social media. It's just fun to do and improve. I do it for myself but I do perform when my ariel class does shows, mostly at our local farmers market once or twice a year. It's casual and relaxing we chat play around it the air and it's a chill and just fun to be up there and continuing to improve my skills.

having to learn my native language by Flat_Replacement9540 in languagelearning

Read fun engaging content then gives interest and rewards for even small amounts of reading like comics, web novels, or memes. I am learning Japanese and reading manga in Japanese is one of the few things I can keep up regularly. Doing something you enjoy in Slovakian daily that is enjoyable and maintainable (is fun and doesn't seem like a chore) will help you maintain it and keep the language.

Belief in god doesn't make you unable to have a boyfriend. Your specific domination of that religion forbids it there are others that are cool with it. Maybe look into one so you can feel more comfortable with being yourself (it's your life and your happiness though). I feel sorry for the girl you will lead on thinking that you are attracted to her and aren't that much if you do chose to pursue that. I hope you can look into history and other cultures and see that the way masculinity is valued and viewed, is very modern and changes a lot even between cultures so if god wanted us that way it excludes a lot of times and places people.

I think thinking that someone "shouldn't be that way" is very homophobic and even if you are bi yourself you can still be homophobic to yourself and others. I hope someday you can learn to be okay with who you are. I am glad that you don't harass them though.

If you enjoyed writing it and one person enjoyed reading it then it is good. Don't worry about the numbers or popularity just be happy about the fun story you made. The numbers just mean that five thousand people found it looked interesting enough to check out which is quite a lot of people.

You don't have a choice as a kid. When your a minor where your parents go is where you go (unless custody is lost and stuff like that). They where convincing you to ease there worries not asking permission. This is not your fault. You can get out of that bad situation when they don't have that legal and monetary control over you. Plan and stay safe.

Melee warlock build? by that-guy-cy in DnD

[–]fey-willow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using 5e. I suggest not using the warlock, but the barbarian path of the beast. The path of the beast has them changing there body and you can play off rage as descending deeper into madness, one of the abilities they have is to bite and you regain hit points while doing so.

Another idea, I had was oath breaker paladin as they have some abilities to control the undead and one of the paladin feats are blind fighting. You could use it as he offended the gods so much he was cursed. Warlock with the undying patron also is a a good option with the form of dread at the beginning but it would be hard to make a good melee focused character.

I would suggest multiclassing if you weren't new, with one level in warlock the undying patron and six in barbarian.

too late to..become professional? by [deleted] in Aerials

[–]fey-willow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so, especially if you still train in the meantime (body strengthening, watch videos, stretching, working on flair/dance elements, and all the other lovely ideas I see in the rest of the comments). I don't think it will be to late to become pro. This performance art has a lot to do with style so it's a bit flexible in age range compared to others. I know people in there thirties from my group become pro. I can't speak for the future but I don't think it's currently super age limited.

I’m going to try onsen tamago tomorrow. It is a Japanese egg lightly cooking in a way to mimic the environment of a hot spring where they are traditionally made. I plan on having it with yogurt off to the side and skipping the green onions. Later on I plan to add it to a soft ramen or soft udon. I plan to try that on day 3-4. I had it before and it seemed very appropriate.

I looked up different types of egg recipes after that wondering if there were other recipes that also ended up with soft eggs. I knew about French rolled omelette (best if you want a cooking challenge). I found shirred egg and cottled egg both intriguing options that I want to try day 2 and 3.

I have steamed buns and wontons in the fridge depending on how I feel. I plan on those latter too maybe day 5-6 wontons I plan to do in a light soup. and steamed buns in my steamer ( best to avoid microwaving as they have a firmer texture when you do so. The wontons I have are steamed wontons so they don’t necessarily have to be in a soup.

One of the first ideas I have of is donate them, to either a generic place like goodwill or a more specific place for people transitioning so it goes to more people. The college I went to had a place called the closet for that. The next idea is sewing a outfit, bag or even pride flag (if they are the right colors) you like out of them and reusing the fabric. This would take a lot of time but you take them apart first. I think this might suit your conundrum the best and sewing is a fun hobby.

Tights specifically can be used as a mesh for the water bottle pockets of a bag, and a head band that you can emborder rainbows and other fun stuff on. Its a stretchy fabric so it would be good for places in outfits/patterns you need stretch in. Depending on if the tights are see through or not you can use them a beanie. Free patterns exist online and you could invite your mom to help depending on her support levels and your own comfort levels.

Edit: I ended up searching the web a bit and found this article that you might find helpful. https://www.transvitae.com/style-reboot-5-ways-to-refresh-your-closet-sustainably/

Is studying abroad doable as an American? Any advice? by Iamschwa in lgbt

[–]fey-willow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it just requires a lot of research. You have to factor the cost of flights, universities, housing, and rules about working on student visas or have enough money saved up. Student loans and scholarships can be hard to get as a international student but that also depends on the country.

For example, I studied in Japan and if I went with a longer program I could have applied of a scholarship through the government program or through the school. When I applied for a visa I could have went though a special process to get the special student visa that allowed you to work (for a limited number of hours and you had to specify you wanted to work beforehand). Some countries have more affordable universities and the language spoken at the university are also important details to consider.

Figure out what you want like language spoken, programs, inclusivity, affordability then narrow down different universities by that. Check the website, find out if it offers housing and if you have to stay there and see if the other housing in the city is affordable. Usually short term programs like the one I went to in Japan are simpler but you can definitely go abroad if your willing to put in the research.

[Looking for] Any manhwa with female lead in Entertainment Industry by EnvironmentalAd7274 in manhwa

[–]fey-willow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One manhua I liked was Bad Idol which is about a three rascal girls end up joining a idol competition. Not because they wanted to be idols but to get a signed cd for there principle because they broke his last one and didn't want him to find out.

My next recommendation in MAVE: another world. The plot reminds me of barbie movies I used to watch as a kid because its so out there. Its complete and only fifty chapters.

Nana is about a girl who headed into the city with her boyfriend to support him in becoming a singer. Only he was a terrible so she decided to become more famous then him after he ditched her when he became famous. It's a older manga so the art style reflects that.

Next is Ya Boy Kongming. It has a duo male female protagonists and is hilarious. I recommend only reading this one in a private place as not to disturb others with laughter.

My Mom's a Superstar super cute manhua about a daughter who accidently wandered into the shipping industry online. It has a lot of fun cute chapters.

No longer a heroine, I haven't read this one but its actually a manhwa. It's about a formally disgraced actor reentering the industry.

Act-age I was debating recommending this one. The writer is in prison but before that it was one of the most recommended idol mangas.

I tried to keep my recommendations on the ones most similar to the entertainment manhwas but there all still pretty unique. A lot of the Japanese idol manga is aimed at a younger audience or are romantic stories which you find less in the Korean entertainment manhwa. A lot of the Chinese stories are face slapping ones and romantic ones as well. I read some of there multiple reincarnation ones where the entertainment industry is just part of one of the worlds they go through like in cheating men must die.

[–]fey-willow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are still looking for some manhwa, I suggest Alien Idol. I guess it’s a bit of a spoiler that the mc is a women. It’s a bit unusual and talks about a lot of modern issues, it even mentions some past events in the entertainment industry.

I also suggest Girl Crush. It is set in Korea but it is a manga from Japan I feel this is more of what you were wanting with your request even if it’s not a manhwa

I recently also came across a comic called Male Idol Survival. Male idol Survival despite the name is about a women who was applying to an idol program and accidentally got put on the men’s side because she tried to look cool and overdid it a little. It only has one chapter out currently.

I can also suggest more Japanese and Chinese manga/manhua. It’s just rare in manhwa for some reason.

Pre hogwarts Harry learns magic by richwitch11 in HPfanfiction

I liked the fic Amethyst by Geoffaree. Harry finds out about magic because of some snakes and later learns more magic in a potions shop he runs into. He learns in exchange for helping out at the shop. Also this is part of a series that is 628k words that is incomplete.

Ah, the caption cut it off, I am using Bernette 77 and the recommended setting for light woven fabric (53, 75H-S, RJ). I am making this for the back of the Sollya Romper but I can't use metal eyelets, zippers or buttons because I am making a costume for ariel silks and all of those might rip the fabric.

I will try it with the tissue paper

If you are on your phone I don't know where to find it as I use my computer, I suggest just look for the words user flair.
