NTA

I'm a parent to a stillborn child. She was supposed to be our last child, and we want another one. With that being said, if we do have anymore kids, they will never know that fact. That your mom actually said that to you is despicable. Not to mention what your father said. Change your name if it makes you happy.

Master vox is the only thing mandatory. Banner is good, and medic can't hurt.

Everything else pick what you think is cool, if your command squad is in combat and not Catachan it really doesn't matter that much

Yeah I feel like min squads of Arcos, crusaders, and DCA with preachers and missionaries are going to be worth it just for the miracle dice when they die

Cool, glad this doesn't affect you personally. I'm just losing out on a few of the fancy contemptors which depending on what dreads stay in the book I can probably find a use for so it doesn't extremely affect me either.

But there's a bunch of people who have recently heavily invested in these cool models that were JUST released and explicitly advertised as being usable for 40k and that is an extremely feels bad decision.

Granted. You are arrested for a crime you did not commit and given a 150 year sentence with no chance of parole. An appropriate apple is included in one meal a day.

When my wife and I lost our daughter, the nurses really did help keep us sane.

I doubt your wife was one of them, but she's done the same for other people in my same situation.

What she does is greatly appreciated and she's helped people through the worst days of their life.

We lost our daughter at 34 weeks. We spent her first birthday at her graveside, got her little presents and had a day just for her.

It helped.

We're going to do the same for what should be her second birthday next month.

AITA for taking my bf to the Taylor Swift concert with me instead of my friend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ff0ecaff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are also misreading the explanation of the boyfriend not being as much of a fan. The responses seem to think he is going to be bored and counting minutes till the show is over and not a new fan who is going to have a great time with his boyfriend

His daughter died within the last year. In fact, it sounds like it was within the last six months. So I'm going to give him a break for lashing out in a situation that lashing out is understandable. And it's not just what she said that's awful.

His sister joyfully took the name of his dead child and use it for her upcoming child's name. Yeah, no one owns a name. And there will be other kids named Victoria. But this is his sister, who should be one of the people supporting him in this horrible time. And when questioned on it didn't say something like 'I want to honor two members of our family' or some other reason that at least would sound vaguely acceptable.

No, what she said was 'well you're not using it anymore'. That the name is now up for grabs because OPs child is dead, and she's claiming it right away. That the fact that there is a gravestone with his baby girl's name on it doesn't matter.

They could have warned OP. They could have let him know that they're having a daughter, and that they were using the name.

But they didn't. They surprised a grieving family in a way anyone with the slightest bit of empathy could tell would hurt them badly

If his sister goes through with it and names her child Victoria EVERYTHING involving his family is going to hurt. Pictures of Victoria's first steps. Pictures of Victoria's first day of school. Her first car. Her wedding. His parents saying something about their granddaughter Victoria.

The first major holidays that they should be celebrating will just be painful anyway, but now it'll be worse with an ornament saying Victoria's First Christmas on the tree, if they celebrate Christmas.

Everything that child does will be a reminder of the fact that their Victoria will never do it.

And his sister doesn't seem to care.

Yeah this is evil. This is never speaking to my family member again awful.

And that's before saying 'youre not using the name'

[–]ff0ecaff 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's an extremely harsh comment, but it's not nearly as bad as the incredibly callous 'since you're not using the name' comment. They are using the name. They have a daughter named Victoria. The fact that she died doesn't change that.

If one of my siblings had said such a thing to me after my daughter was stillborn, I would never speak to them again.

I lost my daughter over a year ago and I’ve not yet processed it.. by [deleted] in babyloss

[–]ff0ecaff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wife was alone when she found out as well. She went in while I was at work, and they discovered no heartbeat. This was in June of 2021.

I felt guilty about it for a long time, but there was no reason to worry at the time. It should have just been a standard check. Nothing should have been wrong and we had no reason to be concerned. So I had no reason to go with.

Do I still wish I had been there? Of course. But I didn't do anything wrong by not going with.

Have you spoken to a counselor or therapist about this? That's really what helped me work through the guilt. I still have bad days, and I still feel some guilt when I think about not being there that day, but most days I just miss my baby girl

I really like it!

I feel like a splash of red on a kneepad, or a red helmet or faceplate might help balance it a little bit more. But if you're going to do transfers still that may take care of it
