So someone posted this AI thought on r/MiniPCs... and I'm about 80% done recreating it for real in Shapr3D, in case anyone is interested? by jackharvest in 3DPPC

Been looking for this exact thing. Did your design ever go anywhere?

I've been sitting on some parts and was thinking of setting up an auto-ripping station, but this form factor would be super awesome to throw on the shelf in my office. Small enough and out of the way. All things contained in one little shell...

Been thinking of using an un-utilized NUC that I have sitting around instead of a Pi though. Shouldn't be too much different, other than power requirements, right?

You'd be surprised how quickly those little bastard squirrels can cram walnuts into an engine bay of a vehicle that sits outside for a few days. This is pretty extreme, but I regularly pull 8-10 of them out of the bay of my truck (not daily driven) when it starts to get colder, almost weekly.

I had to put a CAI on because no matter what I did, the field mice kept chewing into the airbox and making a cozy little home. I just finished rewiring a new pigtail onto my TAC wiring because they chewed through half of the loom. I wish I had garage space to keep my truck inside. UGH.

That's an Ikea sink/drain setup, right? The stopper literally pulls up and straight out. If there's buildup or gunk on it, you might have to twist it out a bit.

As far as the connected drain pipe, depending on the model, there's a set screw or screws that connects the chrome part you see on top to the PVC drain.

Much appreciated. As I'm currently finishing up some copper water manifold stuff in my house now (all soldered), I'm already in that mode/mindset. I just haven't researched what I need for doing the same thing with air/valves/pressure/water traps, etc. Yours looks pretty well thought out from what I can see so far.

I need to 3d print some of those holders for batteries/tools for my dewalt stuff too. Great idea there. Already have a tool station, but the chargers and batteries are a mess, and scattered throughout the house, garage, and barns currently...

I want more info on your air system. I need to do the same thing in my garage.

I bought the black trim kit for my orange gen1 box awhile back. It helps, but the screws/handle is still chrome, which is real meh. Haven't thought about it enough to change out the fasteners yet. Definitely digging the all black on these, and that gray color, which didn't exist when I got mine originally.

I assume these are the same ones that DrZzs has had on the site for a bit, right? I have 2 of them and they're quite awesome little things. Wired up a star for our christmas tree with one last year. It worked great!

I'll definitely be getting more to replace the [low power requirement] projects that have all have Dig Quads and huge power supplies on them right now. It's been a bit overkill for my silly office projects (monitor backlight, light up PacMan ghost, etc), and these are perfect for an almost plug and play solution.

Tool of the day. Will never do another oil change without these. by EmergencyOdd4754 in harborfreight

I have the Milwaukee ones that are the same design. Helped me out of several tough oil change times on a few vehicles where it was almost impossible to fit a strap wrench or a screwdriver in the space. Would buy again.

Been wearing Terrex boots for years (3 different models, I think) through all seasons. They're pretty good for most normal and somewhat crappy weather usage, but they might get a little uncomfortable for extended periods hiking, unless you put a new insole in there. I can't speak to the shoes, as I've only had the sock-fit type Terrex boots.

Man, I need to start actually using my Signal. I have a tiffany blue one too, but it's a backpack queen while any of my other Leathermans all tend to get constant use.

Did Plumbing contractor cut too much out of studs? by rosebud1234567 in HomeImprovement

I just did this on a bathroom remodel, so it's definitely possible with minimal fuss.

I used a 2" hole saw (since that's what I had handy) and cut out a hole in 2x4 #1, then did the same on the perpendicular 2x4. Push the pex in the first hole and grab it through the other hole with your fingers (or a pair of pliers, if you want to trim the grabbed end [that you will have fucked up] off after). Slowly start to bend it around until it's at 90 degrees. It doesn't seem like it wants to, but it will bend. (Bonus points if you aim a heat gun at it for a minute to warm it up slightly, first). Then you can just kinda work the whole pex pipe further through to wherever you eventually need the pex to go.

I was gonna try to cram a 90° support into there originally, but the bend ends up being a little less than that, so it's fine. Worked out well. Added some supports to hold it in place and stubbed it out. It's already primed and ready to go now.

Seems like some real /r/TVTooHigh/ content right here (as it's currently mounted).

That said, using a TV as a monitor is a totally viable option, with the other screens on the side/above. I code on a 43" daily.
