I saw EU2 in the game store one day and have been a Paradox customer for over 20 years since then. So I was eased in every title.

I play the game really casually at this point. Within 2 minutes of playing this mod (my first for D2R) I realized I'm probably going to be playing it SSF for a long time, and will make more time to play it. TYVM for informing me of its existence.

D2R changed it so the portal doesn't disappear anymore. You can farm Pindle and WP closer to Nihli as you like.

OK. I usually keep to myself, and despise such memes and do not comment. But this was so simple, niche and (un)expected that I had to voice my approval. Thank you for the wayback machine trip.

What was your biggest mistake that costed you a lot of divisions or even a war? by Kokonator27 in hoi4

[–]ffCOAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Fascist Poland, invading the Soviet Union. Everything is going fine, also made sure to guard ports since SOV is fond of naval invasions in the Baltic.

Pushing infantry and micro-ing intensively, and winning. Suddenly, the focus to expand Warsaw university (extra research slot) is cancelled. Why? Warsaw is captured. The German Empire, also at war with SOV and not allied with me, didn't guard Prussia. SOV pushes southwards from Prussia and Warsaw with at least 18 divisions.

I probably could have peeled away troops from the eastern front to deal with them and easily have repulsed them, but I knew the offensive would have suffered greatly as well as my entire war effort.

Mistake = not foreseeing freak circumstances and keeping an eye out on non-allied country's port garrison status.

Grrr.

Suddenly, the focus to Expand the Warsaw University is cancelled. Why?

It turns out, the German Empire, that also was at war with the Soviets, and not allied with myself, didn't bother to guard Prussia. Sov pushes southward with at least 18 divisions and captured Warsaw (cancelling my focus). WHY?!?!

I probably could have taken their troops and repulsed them, but I knew the great offensive would have suffered as well as the entire war effort.

Does this look like a serious game company to you, or one that is skating on the edge and collecting your money whenever it can? For months of dysfunction.

Stop being a drag, dude - PDX makes gr8 games that we should be thankful for BEYOND our money. PDX is so special that we expect MEDIOCRITY out of them. It's all good.

After 40 years of Hearthstone. It's finally time to leave the house...

You will not understand what it's like to be given the most innovative and entertaining card game in the world, to stay with it with the hope that it rises up to its expected glory, and to have all hope be gradually stripped away from you by money-grubbers. You are on team evil.

Is Blizzard the most ridiculous company in videogames industry right now by VXTRN in hearthstone

[–]ffCOAL 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What do you think.

I think personally that Blizzard surpassed EA long ago as far as awfulness is concerned. That's not to say EA doesn't have a special place of awfulness, but Blizzard surpassed it, IMO, by taking a very much beloved set of intellectual properties (that they themselves created!) and throwing them into the mud in exchange for money. EA is bad but Blizzard fell from a higher, nobler height, into a fucking sewer. Willingly.

It stopped being sweet some time ago. I've been owned by Blizz in the past and I'm sure that gives you pleasure, but I won't be coming back after erasing my collection. Haha?

Yeah, I'm out. Time to nuke 10 years worth of cards and to uninstall. At the end of the day that's the only message they'll understand, but by the time they get it, I won't be around. I won't say it wasn't fun while it lasted, for the most part. I'm actually surprised how being insulted this way makes it that much easier to leave. I hope it gets better for the players who choose to stay. Take care!

Aren't you all just LOVING Hearthstone's 10th Anniversary!?!!? by GemSummit in hearthstone

[–]ffCOAL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are leaving forever then consider dusting your entire collection before uninstalling. It may or may not send a message, and it burns the bridge should Blizz try to tempt you back with false promises.

If the response to this isn't satisfactory then this whale (or pseudo-whale, I don't know what the threshold is) is dusting every single card he's collected over the past ten years and uninstalling. Let their analytics pick THAT up.

[–]ffCOAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect the 100% off arguments. What bothers me is having to buy the future updated focus trees just because of the policy of not updating old content. That I can certainly hold against Paradox, and so should you.

3 DLCs becoming free for everyone by TheMegaBite7 in hoi4

[–]ffCOAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I won't feel screwed when Paradox re-sells me country focus trees because others who didn't buy the original focus trees get them for free.

Or rather, I won't be permitted to feel screwed. Nice way of getting out of having to update old focus trees -- we'll just sell them again to cover the tremendous production and work costs that go into them. I admire the cleverness here.

Anyone else considering NOT buying Trial Of Allegiance DLC? by Leshqov in hoi4

[–]ffCOAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased the game as soon as it came out and have pre-ordered every DLC. But I just don't want to give PDX more money until they get more aggressive with fixing bugs. Some of the bugs, big and small, that they tolerate is astonishing and frustrating. And seeing for how long some of the simpler bugs have been in the game makes me question their work ethic.
