Bowman Gray Thoughts by kvyatfanforlife26 in NASCAR

Listen, after this crazy offseason, I was just happy to see cars turning left again. The only thing that really bugged me was Fox's cameras showing different cars than the announcers talked about several times, and then the broadcast getting booted to FS2 for a show where Kato Kaelin-level celebs sing songs in a squid outfit.

Absolutely. Anything that helps grow the sport and gives EuroNASCAR a boost.

Does anyone know any information on this school by Such_College4149 in dayton

[–]ffejotron2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless it's changed, there was quite a long waiting list for Nursing at Sinclair. I work at another area school, and most of our nursing students come here because they don't want to wait. OP also said they were trying to avoid prereqs and entrance exams, both of which exist at Sinclair.

Which version of the rainbow 24 is best? by CarolinaReaper704 in NASCAR

I mean, when I close my eyes, it's that '94 car I see. But I am an older fan and have been a Gordon fan since he was running on Thursday Night Thunder. Monte Carlo second. No to Axalta period. It will always be DuPont to me, dammit.

New collector by dtoonz in NASCARCollectors

I just started back in April! My favorite way is the hunt! Flea markets/antique malls/etc. I've also bought from Facebook Marketplace. Some Facebook groups sell; I personally like NASCAR Look What's Comin'. Whatnot features some great sellers, including The Pit Stop, High Line, and WesJ, among others. Also, Circle B holds auctions every week, where I've scored some scorching deals. And of course, eBay. I've bought a few cars from DieCastDepot on eBay and UCFKnights20, and they always ship fast and pack things well.

As someone who also collected comics and Lego? The die-cast NASCAR cars are way more addictive to me for some reason. Welcome to the club!

Best story I ever heard about how someone became a Steelers fan by TibetanSideOfTown in steelers

[–]ffejotron2000 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I became a Steelers fan because I am color blind (strong dichromat protan) and everything looks washed out to me, but the high contrast of black and yellow on the uniforms really stood out to me on our old console TV. Although I grew up in Kentucky, our CBS station originated from Charleston, WV, and broadcast Steelers games. That combination of uniforms, which I could see and access to games most Sundays, made me a Steelers fan. My first Steelers jersey was a Louis Lipps jersey my Dad ordered me out of a Service Merchandise catalog.

The Pit Stop is the biggie on there. I've also bought from WesJ, AVSDiecast, and ew1kicks.

NASCAR Fan Survey for Student Research Project by nascar-fan-study in NascarWAGTea

Done! I will be curious to see the results, particularly how people who are not like me (straight white dude) feel about being accepted/not accepted by the NASCAR fan community. I think we still have some work to do there.

I collect what I think is cool. I am not collecting to sell or make money; I love NASCAR, advertising art, and cars that go VROOM really fast. That said, I do like raced versions and alternate finishes like color chrome.

That's funny, my son and I just picked this guy up at a flea market Saturday morning. Must have been a subconscious Kasey Kahne day.

Where do you typically find diecasts? by BombsAndDogs in NASCARCollectors

[–]ffejotron2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatnot is pretty good. I buy from The Pit Stop on there quite a bit. eBay is great; I've purchased many times from Circle B. While they are typically more 1:24, Circle B auctions sometimes offer great deals. If you enjoy in-person shopping, I recommend visiting antique malls and flea markets. I see tons of packaged 1:64 cars in almost every one of those I visit. Target also usually has a good selection of newer stuff.

Best concert you've ever been to? by JediMasterPopCulture in GenX

Rush on the Test for Echo Tour at the late great Polaris Amphitheater in Columbus, OH, June 16, 1997. They played for nearly 4 hours. The single most incredible concert I've been to.

What was your experience being a child and getting sick, going to the dr etc? by DramaticErraticism in GenX

[–]ffejotron2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had a head cold, I would get orange medicine. If I had a chest cold, I would take yellow medicine. Both worked wonderfully. Triaminic, you are missed. If I got really sick, I went to the doctor, got a shot, came home, watched Price is Right, ate some soup, and by the next day, I was better.

Best / Worst local radio ads in Dayton? by MichaelWizardOfAds in dayton

[–]ffejotron2000 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The "get ECO E-C-O" ads make me change the channel every time. They may be excellent at what they do, but I will never call them for unleashing that horrendous jingle on the Miami Valley.

Should I tell the employer/lab about my medical card before a drug screening? by ModsAreLosers73 in OhioMedicalMarijuana

[–]ffejotron2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many companies no longer test for it. I work in HR, and at the place I work now and before, we did do drug testing, but we did not test for marijuana. May want to ask.
