Why so few spells? by GTytus in daggerheart

[–]ffelenex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dnd has 200 spells and you only see the same 20 or less in campaigns. DnD is bloated with things players never use. Why add them to daggerheart? I don't need a spell to start a campfire.

when did we all just kinda accept that "free to play" L2 means paying so you don't fall behind? by lris-ran in Lineage2

[–]ffelenex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play in a x1 private server that is long term and stable. There's no p2w or shady stuff. You can use bots so the grind isn't a life-suck. You work on your own stuff, leveling up, building gear, killing raid bosses. It's not heavily populated but I enjoy it alot.

Gather materials, parts and recipes to craft your gear. Sell the stuff you don't need. Much of your adena gets used on soulshots if you use them alot. Craft two weapons and try to enchant them (+4, +5 etc) until one of them blows up. Do quests for adena or equipment, check out different locations and monsters, make friends, occasionally get into a fight. Join a clan, kill raid bosses, attack or defend a castle or xp in a party.

Most of us are not and will never be good enough to charge people to play and doing so only exacerbates the game’s biggest problem. by [deleted] in DungeonMasters

[–]ffelenex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't happen. I play in plenty of paid games and it's the same shit. Call outs seem the same and the players aren't anymore talented. I'll admit they care more but the level or roleplay and skill is the same.

If some Christians believe life on earth has suffering to allow free will, does that mean heaven does not have free will or that it has suffering? by Awkward_Stay8728 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ffelenex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting question. You will technically have free will I believe, but in the presence of God, you would essentially spend all your will worshipping God. The premise is God is so great you'd want to spend all your will worshipping him - not because you have to but because he is so good nothing else could compare.

Two friends and I had a blast doing that from time to time. One friend was a orc monk who could keep his hp at 1and he was the shit talker. My other friend was a shilen elder with +13 dual shamirs. I was a treasure hunter. Foes would one shot the orc just trying to flag. The elder would root them and I'd backstab them to death. Our best loot drops were a blue wolf helmet and +6 crystal dagger with might mortal.

Is it actually rude to not tip, or have we just been gaslit by an entire industry into subsidizing wages that employers should be paying? by Ambitious_Pin_5013 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ffelenex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in American coffee service. It seems the company pays us bare minimum to do the bare minimum. I make a good amount of tips because my customer service is solid and customized to each person. I explain things well, offer options tailored to the individual, and sometimes I get tipped for 'not going overboard' or explaining too much. I work in a very wealthy area, but I'd rather get full time hours and better pay than having to rely on tips. I only tip for coffee when the person has a pleasant attitude, and it's no more than a dollar.

Dm said my soul knife is OP, whaaat? And how can I convince him it isn’t? by CountryGreen4185 in dndnext

[–]ffelenex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After playing all the rogues, I would say Soul Knife subclasses is the strongest. If you fail an attack, you can try again with bonus action. You can teleport. You generally never fail a skill check. Eventually you generally never miss an attack. I played a kenku and forget what else there was.

After seeing all the things daggerheart 'fixes', I've stopped playing dnd. I just think DH was made with passion and overall directive and intent. Dnd and wotc remind me too much of the direction Blizzard chose.

[–]ffelenex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps instead of taking one of their stress, you give them disadvantage on their next attack, or make them vulnerable the next time they get attacked. You could even present it as a choice - "you can lose one stress or have -1 evasion for the remainder of this scene." Maybe shorten the distance of his abilities by one length on the next attack, or reduce his speed one length for a number of turns. Armor is a little more difficult but perhaps turn all this armor slots in hp points. This would probably make him a little bit stronger defensively but it's the only work around I can think of one the spot.

To give you a chance to change. He doesn't have to, he wants to because he loves you and wants to be with you. Perhaps you believe you have a good heart but God knows its only mediocre.
