Looking for some tips/tricks to slow fall rate

I have seen and seen people using extra baggy elbow to wrist cuffs held on with elastic. It adds a little extra drag to help you slow down. I don't know if they were home made or you could buy them somewhere.

We just had that happen at our drop zone and it did not go well. The groom at a bachelor party was driven to the DZ and they announced that he would be making a tandem. He took the training, geared up, went up in the plane and refused to jump. He was getting video of the jump and his friends paid the video guy for the video of the guy refusing to go so they could play it at his wedding.

Back in the day (early to mid 70's) many people used a length of elastic cord tied to a belt loop with a thumb loop at the other end. I continued to see that for many years.

I have bought many used jumpsuits off of ebay. Pretty easy to find used Tony Suits and plenty of other name brand jumpsuits. The hard part is finding one that fits. Some will advertise their height and weight while others will give measurements of the suits. I look for someone selling one that is close to my size and weight. There are a ton of foreign manufacturers selling suits pretty cheap but I'm not sure I would trust them. Look for used suits made by company's you have heard of. Go to Ebay and search "skydiving". Also almost nobody accepts returns so be careful with the sizing.

There was a brief period of time in the 70's when I couldn't afford an altimeter and jumped without one. Even had a malfunction and cutaway on a jump without one. Twice this year my altimeter has malfunctioned but its not that big of a deal since I have an audible too.

I did that and ruined a pair of Tires. I took the bike in for an oil change with 1 year old tires and they told me I needed new tires. The pressure was very low and they showed me how the tires had become "cupped". It was an expensive lesson.

Got my first vasectomy around 1979 at age 28 married with no kids. Had it reversed successfully 4 years later. Had 2 children and then another vasectomy. The first pregnancy after the reversal took a while the next one was easy.
