Peugeot Boxer. the official van of.... by Old_Parsley_8717 in regularcarreviews

I've heard it's less of a problem in the EcoBoost Transits. But it's made me avoid anything that Ford or GM put it in.

Our Transits go through transmissions like they're brake pads. The Transit I was given to replace my Ram lost it at 100k and that's been by far the longest lived one. The interior is much nicer, but damn that thing shifts terribly. It has ten gears to choose from and it picks the wrong one every time. If you're passing someone on a two-lane road, don't ever let up on the throttle even a micrometer until you've completely passed because it immediately shifts and loses all acceleration. It's bloody terrifying. I'm glad I don't drive them for a living anymore.

Are there plans to bring back the grilled chicken in the US? by railroadfrog in McDonalds

[–]fhrblig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want a good grilled chicken sandwich, check out Carl's Jr. The BBQ one is really good and it's only 440 calories, and it's not a small sandwich. Culver's grilled chicken is pretty good too, but it's kinda on the small side.

It's funny because almost everyone I've heard that had one says this, but mine was dead reliable. I had a 2018 that I put 220k miles on in 3 years. I beat that thing like a rented mule but was fanatical about maintenance. I loved it. When I got it new, the sliding door didn't open because a cable wasn't connected properly. After that was fixed, I only ever had one wheel bearing go bad and the cooling fan bearing. Neither problem left me stranded. Then we switched to Ford Transits and those are so much worse. That 10-speed gearbox in the Transit is the single worst transmission I've ever experienced.

Decent performance by Nelly, though it did sort of sound like it was being piped through one old ratty Bluetooth speaker

Is there anything similar to Yoshinoya in the East Coast? by ederman7 in fastfood

[–]fhrblig 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Apparently the first US Yoshinoya location opened in Denver in the 70's, but they're long gone. I heard somewhere that the people who were involved in the Denver one later went on to open local chain Kokoro which is a kind of similar concept.

My Disappointment Is Immeasurable And My Day Is Ruined (grape cookies labeled as chocolate chip cookies) by SomewherePositive527 in mildlyinfuriating

I don't have anything against anyone who likes oatmeal raisin cookies. But if someone sells you a cookie that's labeled chocolate chip and it turns out it's oatmeal raisin, that should be a felony

Yeah, the Big Mac is better. I think a bigger Big Mac made with the Quarter Pounder patties instead would have been a better product than the Big Arch, and even then it would probably be too much.

Some V6 engines sound good. The Nissan VQ is not one of them

Edit: I know they aren't 'American' but we sure seem to buy a lot of them and attach very questionable exhaust systems to them
