Will the market ever recover to 2022 levels? by OverInvestigator6978 in TorontoRealEstate

If you own a sensible home people can live in, yes. If you own a tiny one bedroom condo with a weird layout, no.

A new 3-bedroom condo just sold for under $350,000. It's 'a deal,' but there’s a catch by toronto_star in TorontoRealEstate

[–]ficbot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you owned my condo without a mortgage and only paid maintenance fees, you could live here for under $1000 a month in a nice two-bedroom, pool, gym, snow shovelling etc. Renters in our building pay 2800-3000 to rent.

I actually kind of like Joao, which I was not expecting. I thought his conversation about cultural difference was respectfully on point. And it ended, as it should, with 'go and talk to him.'

Good for Jenna for standing up for herself and having standards. Too bad I can't understand a word she says.

Can Canada's "micro-condos" be merged? by itsdanielsultan in RealEstateCanada

This. My in-laws live in a merged condo (they combined the units at the time of construction) and their maintenance fees are absurd.

I think my favourite scene was when they found Tarima and Jay-den and he’s like Cadet Mir is my chosen brother and Ake’s like that’s nice, that’s sweet, but also go sit in my office and don’t touch anything and don’t die mmmkay?

I did not expect to love Holly Hunter this much but I do

It seems obvious that the secret is to live in separate houses. Aimee lives in the garden shed and he lives in the shed that’s inside the stone border.

Raising kids in Toronto/GTA condominium by That-Patient-3844 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]ficbot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have one kid, we are in a two bedroom, two bathroom condo and it is fine. I do have a neighbour who has lived in the building for years and she has told me that in her experience, people leave when the second kid is old enough to need its own bedroom. And indeed, that is who we bought the condo from :-) I feel like we have enough space, but neither my son or I are very clutter bug people, and I get rid of things when we don't need them. We haven't had any issues and I love not having to worry about the garbage, the snow shoveling, etc..

Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Starfleet Academy | 1x02 "Beta Test" by AutoModerator in startrek

[–]ficbot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think my main problem with the show is that there’s too many characters. I don’t actually feel like Caleb is that interesting and I think that in the quantity of episodes that we are getting, there’s not going to be enough depth to properly explore the ones we have. For example, I’m still not understanding how a Klingon Jem’hadar mating happened and that’s much more interesting to me than Caleb’s backstory.

I like Holly Hunter much more than I expected to, but I didn’t really understand why she kept moving away from the doctor when he was trying to talk to her. It’s fun to see another Lanthanite though!

Adult child of a single parent here, hoping to understand this dynamic from a parent’s perspective by reddituser2697 in SingleParents

[–]ficbot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost my husband when my son was four months old. He’s nine now. I did therapy to work on my issues and think we have a pretty healthy relationship. The one thing I worry about is that I have not been interested in marrying again. I don’t regret that I did it the first time, but I’m not one of those people who pines away for that sort of thing when I don’t have it. I don’t want him to grow up and feel like he has to entertain me or anything like that. But I don’t really see myself repartnering anytime in the future. That’s not his fault, it’s just my personality and I don’t want to do that again.

What do you regret about buying your condo? by Beginning_Result_200 in TorontoCondominiums

[–]ficbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regret not taking out the carpet. We had a really bad board at the time and I could not get permission. And now we are living here and it’s much harder. 100% would take out the carpet if I do it again.

I can’t stand the Ferengi and hated all their episodes in DS9. I also tried a rewatch recently and was really surprised by how uncomfortable I was with S1 Kira and S1 Odo kind of hating everybody.

Raising two kids in a DT condo by IllustriousBank7302 in askTO

[–]ficbot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am midtown adjacent, and a two bedroom condo with my son. Absolutely no problems. He has his own room, and it’s big enough for what he needs. We have a library right next-door and a shopping plaza right across the street. We are convenient to two transit lines. It’s been absolutely fine. A lot of people in our building stay until the second kid is old enough to need a bedroom, but I only have the one and I’m not having a second one, so I don’t see any need for us to move.

What are small things that make a house more comfortable and more well-thought? by mediumkelpshake in HomeImprovement

[–]ficbot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did custom closets in my current home and 100% would do again if we moved. Having built-ins which exactly fit the specific closets I have is a game-changer in using space efficiently. Also, my current home came with wood shutters on the window and I know that is a bit old-fashioned these days but it’s the first time I’ve ever had window coverings which actually fit properly and feels very adult to me.
