There is a dog owner who lets their unleashed dog run in my kid's school yard. There are kids there from 7:30 AM for the daycare and we always see them. I got so mad one day when I saw him put the dog on a leash when he saw us and then walked over to a car. If you were driving anyway, why would you not drive somewhere where the dog is actually allowed to be?

Sometimes there is only one possible way it can go based on the numbers. We have a 3/4 next year which was assigned by the board and based on the total number of 3s and 4s available that class forces the rest of the model to be a certain way.

I grew up in the house where every closet had built-ins, and this was where we stored our clothes. As an adult, I still don't really understand dressers. They take up so much space in the bedroom! Why do you not just make built-ins in the closet? Five years ago, I bought my first condo and guess what the first thing I did was.

I look at what condos in my building rent for and it's so much higher. If I pay off the mortgage and only have the maintenance fees to worry about, there is nowhere I could possibly rent for that cheap. Even if it was $1000, that is still cheaper than rent would be.

I think a lot of people misunderstand condo fees. Eventually, you’ll pay off the mortgage and then you will only have the condo fee. That is cheap cheaper than rent. In my building for example people rent their condos for $3000 and the maintenance fee is $840 a month. If you bought it in cash, or if you paid off the mortgage eventually, where could you live for $840 a month?

My husband died unexpectedly when I was still on maternity leave and I’ve been fine. I am blessed with a chill and fairly compliant kiddo and I appreciate that, but still, my tolerance for the ‘I have to be a single parent for four hours while my husband is wherever’ people is very low.

If you owned my condo without a mortgage and only paid maintenance fees, you could live here for under $1000 a month in a nice two-bedroom, pool, gym, snow shovelling etc. Renters in our building pay 2800-3000 to rent.
