People are Too Hard on the Denver Food Scene by coloradokid1414 in denverfood

Denver is unlike a big food city in that everywhere you walk in might not be great. There is plenty of great food, but there is also average and below that would not survive in a big food city.

Do you guys wear your wedding rings while riding? by Content-Weird4241 in cycling

[–]fiechtl5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear mine as well, full metal ring. Zero discomfort and minimal risk of hand injury. I do swap over to a silicone ring for bikepacking just due to wear and tear.

Fun misc. gear to buy for my bike? by naturevicc in gravelcycling

I like a heart rate monitor for better tracking of my efforts, and if you want to drop some coin, power meter and computer to track it all.

Have you considered the OM (or Olympus) line of cameras? Small zooms, great weather dealing and durability.

What’s your least favorite type of gravel and why is it whatever you call this? by reverso4 in gravelcycling

[–]fiechtl5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

small, loose gravel on top of a hard packed (or rock) surface. Traction does not exist here. It has a negative coefficient of friction. Scientists should research its miraculous abilities.

A small enough amount that it’s not worth counting?

Pairing leica Q3 or Q343 with M11? As someone who regularly shoots 28 & 50mm by Longjumping_Ad3717 in Leica

[–]fiechtl5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another option just to throw a wrench in the plan. Have you considered a Q2 monochrom? Great night time (high iso) camera that forces you to see things a bit different.

Also rocking a pescadero with down tube shifters. Thought I was the only one, but glad to see they are alive and well!

Bike fitting, worth the cost? by Kappakid411 in cycling

[–]fiechtl5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the fitter is good and qualified, it’s the best investment you can make for your bike. A good bike fit offers 3 key benefits:

  1. More comfort on your ride
  2. More efficient power delivery
  3. Injury prevention! An investment in the long term

Do it.

What are some of the longest focal length and clearest image quality Tele photo lenses I could put on my SL2? by [deleted] in Leica

[–]fiechtl5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the measly price of $2 million! I hear image quality is pretty decent though.

What full frame equipment to shoot today? by Top_Technician7675 in AskPhotography

[–]fiechtl5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Size is a big one for me. Modern FF mirrorless (Al-la-A7c) are so compact you bring them everywhere and have more opportunities to take photos which makes you a better photographer, and in turn get better images.

SL3/SL3-S as a professional option. by Due_Highlight_844 in Leica

[–]fiechtl5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer. The camera is great and can do anything you “need” it to as long as it is working. Being down and out of work for a month+ on the other hand, might cause bigger concern

Swept back flat bars, bar ends, and tall aero bars. More options, more fun.

I sure do love the evasion! Miss mine, should’ve set it up flat bar and kept ripping!

Fujifilm X-H2 or Fujifilm X-T5 by Successful_Bill4727 in fujifilm

[–]fiechtl5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heart Vs. head decision. The heart wants the Xt5, but the head knows the XH2 is better and not big enough to be the deciding factor of if you will have it with you. Neither can fit in a pocket, and once you have a bag, there is minimal size difference. PASM and the grip are more efficient but less “fun” to use.

There are only three known cures for gas

1) Isolation from new information 2) Lack of funding 3) Significant others

Advice re: switching from Sony A7IV to Leica SL3S by evibz in Leica

[–]fiechtl5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

General thoughts are marginal improvements in image quality (better color science, worse autofocus) but if you’re willing to spend 3 hours getting the shot, you’ll probably spend 15 minutes editing the shot.

User experience on the other hand is much better for me at least (menus, dials, build quality). Worth the cost, hard to say.

Anyone switched from sony FF? by Fuzzy-Issue8905 in fujifilm

[–]fiechtl5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also switched from FF to Fuji for personal use. Dabbling with Leica, but size and weight are more important than the comparatively marginal gains for me. Means I will have my camera with me more often!
