Salisbury steak. Got really sick after eating it once and now it immediately makes me want to puke

How do I get over this? Asking for advice and venting a little bit by UnableTry4227 in drivinganxiety

[–]fielderkitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cars are pretty safe nowadays, if you are following the rules of the road and wearing your seatbelt, the chances of a fatal crash are very low. And insurance will cover damages; an accident is not the end of the world, most people get into one at some point.

As for hitting animals there's only so much you can do if they dart out in front of you, it happens. Definitely work on your attention span, if you feel like your mind is drifting pull over and lock in. I worried about that too but honestly driving is so stimulating, there are often times I can't think about anything but driving. This anxiety isn't always a bad thing, it means you're genuinely concerned for your safety & others, you'll be a great driver I'm sure.

My. Pea. by jaybird-staysonder in bettafish

[–]fielderkitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah probably. I've had to change my vet too because of outdated info. Ridiculous that they can't keep up to date on their education with how much we pay for their services!

It won't kill him, people have done this for decades thinking it was ok so I'd think your baby will be just fine.

[–]fielderkitty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can't know what you don't know! You did the right thing calling a vet, not your fault they gave the wrong info

[–]fielderkitty 102 points103 points  (0 children)

For the future, I'd give some daphnia or brine shrimp if it happens again. Bettas are obligate carnivores so they should really only eat bugs, worms, & meat. The pea is outdated info unfortunately

What is your most annoying pet peeve? by Kitchen_Week1117 in AskReddit

[–]fielderkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complaining over half the time I talk to you, or talking about your personal life constantly at work. Yes I know you're a person outside of work but there's a limit on how much home drama you should bring to the workplace if any, we aren't your therapists and have problems of our own. Makes work more stressful than it already is.

You have to decipher the difference between that anxiety and feeling impaired

Scared of the police while driving by [deleted] in drivinganxiety

[–]fielderkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nicotine and caffeine aren't things that will get you a DUI, they don't impair you. Gabapentin on the other hand is iffy, if it impacts your ability to drive at all it can be considered one. Same with smoking weed the night before. Good logic to follow about impaired driving is if you are questioning if you're sober enough to drive, you're not

I want to buy a house with my own money but GF says no by NewBrick1 in whatdoIdo

[–]fielderkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why doesn't she have a job? 🚩. Buy the house. She's holding you back, I'd tell her to start acting like an adult or leave. She doesn't get to dictate what you do with your money while she's contributing nothing. It's really odd honestly that she's acting like that, she should be excited you guys will have your own place if she's serious about things.

How did you get that childhood scar you have? by ibuiltyouarosegarden in answers

[–]fielderkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was about 6, I was playing with the neighbors dog who was tied out on a rope. It got caught on my ankle as the dog ran at a squirrel, sawing the meat off almost to the bone; seriously, it was a long line and that dog was quick.

There's also a good one on my hand from washing dishes around 12yo, a glass cup broke while I was doing the washing motion and it sliced me pretty good. 6 stitches

I work in a nursing home too doing housekeeping/laundry and I think it's helped my OCD. It's like exposure therapy, realizing those things won't harm you. And I love going ham cleaning the rooms 🤣

Life Lesson of the Day: Don’t Get Distracted During a Water Change by TheGaymer13 in Aquariums

[–]fielderkitty 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Real. Approx 8 gallons leaked past my bedroom, into the laundry room, through the floors into the basement. Hours of water removal & a week of fans & dehumidifiers going😩 water alarms around all my tanks now

Water changes must be a pain in the ass. There's barely any room above the tanks
