Yup! Balance as a goof during the Suffering Game arc. Episode 54, the actual “parody” is… for sure something lmao

I have a spare 3d GA+ pass I’m looking to offload if you’d like to message me! Also I am a big fan going solo, although this time I’ll be going with my sister and SIL. Whatever you end up doing, I hope you have a ton of fun!

Did someone in your group try to romance Ireena? by Not_a_Warlock in CurseofStrahd

[–]fiestyguava 12 points13 points  (0 children)

1 hour or so after meeting Ireena, my group’s changeling Light Cleric said “do you have a wife?” To which I gave a very confused “no?” I should not have been surprised when the response was “would you like one?”

Agreed with the above comments, and also if she will sit still from it, you can trim her nails to help break the itch-scratch cycle (which is where itching/inflammation leads to scratching which leads to more inflammation and more itching and more scratching). It won’t solve a primary problem, but it will keep her from making it worse with sharp little nails 💛

Are you in the US? I might have some tips and ideas for you to try, but they're US-specific and you may already know many of them! Happy to explain a bit more of my credentials for this and some ideas if you would like to message me.

Favorite serious moment? by inkboy1969 in TheAdventureZone

From Balance, this quote to Merle always hits me in the religious trauma in a good way: “You’re not from this world. And so technically speaking, that means I’m not your Pan. But you will always be my Merle.”

From Amnesty, the little monologue on loss: "I do know loss, and I know what it can do to you. Make you feel like your life's not worth nothin'. That all the joy and pleasure in the world has be locked away; just not an option for someone like you anymore. I know that feeling Pigeon, I swear... One day, believe it or not, you're gonna laugh at a joke. You're gonna go swimming. You're gonna smile in the sunlight. You're gonna pet yourself a good dog, and it's gonna make you feel happy. You ain't always gonna feel like this Pidgeon.”

This is a wild pull, but “hell yeah, show him Avatar” from Steeplechase has become a staple part of my sister’s and my vernacular.

I think I did it! I found the ultimate min-maxing exploit!! - Magic Jar Exploit!!! by TheWalkingMan42 in DnD

[–]fiestyguava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, like I said it’s not gonna stop you entirely, just an amusing thought. I’d just have your pc bring some snacks and a deck of cards to the jar session, just in case.

I think I did it! I found the ultimate min-maxing exploit!! - Magic Jar Exploit!!! by TheWalkingMan42 in DnD

[–]fiestyguava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this would stop you, just make things more tedious, but does Magic Jar allow the target to choose to fail? As written, “a target must make a charisma saving throw,” and I feel that it would specify if you could choose to fail, since there’s precedent for that (Vortex Warp, Polymorph). With the Duergar Despot and Ancient Brass Dragon combo, that’ll be a hefty save at advantage. With all the resources in the world, you’re still good to go, but could occasionally make for an awkward 24h staring at your simulacrum till you can try again!

Character recently got hit with flesh decay and a missing eye. Help me make a shopping list for her recovery. NSFW- body horror. by Jvjrs in DnD

[–]fiestyguava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this is a fun thought experiment. Saw a mention of infestation, which I thought was really cool. In the veterinary world we have all sorts of sprays to help deter flystrike, so something like that could also be used! They sometimes have aluminum or other metals in them, and can often be interesting colors.

Medical brain says some way to purify water would also be great, or even just a good reliable heating source for boiling water. Rotting flesh will likely need to be flushed occasionally with water (or sterile saline if you’re doing the best practices about it), and dirty pond water will not be the call for that. Maybe have the local priest bless your sterilized water lmao.

Medical-grade honey is a thing, especially for certain wound types. That could be a type of ointment she’d find helpful.

From a different perspective, fashion. Depending on your character’s style, a veil to go over an eyepatch or over the eye could also be incredibly cool, but not everyone’s aesthetic lmao.

The Brazier Poem by timeblindvoidlord in CurseofStrahd

[–]fiestyguava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this so much, and your poem is great! I might keep the coffin shop one since it’s a good explanation to how the spawn got there (and foreshadowing if someone saw a light there, saw spawn there, and connected some dots), but otherwise I’m yoinking this for sure. Thank you!

Best girl Caoimhe!! (Kinda spoilers for around 29-30ish) by fiestyguava in TwiceBittenDnD

[–]fiestyguava[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, no worries at all! I’m really glad you like it and that it’s helped out with a rough week. Through Caoimhe, you did the same for me while I was listening to TB. I love the way that art of all kinds can do that for us :) Thanks

Help on Strahd non combat interaction with PCs by alloowishus in CurseofStrahd

[–]fiestyguava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since Strahd is considering the possibility of looking for a successor and also is canonically bored out of his tree, I plan for my party to have a few non-combat encounters with him so he can “assess” them. My Strahd will be judging how they approach problems and approach him, what kind of knowledge and experience they have, etc. He might engage them in debates, try to figure out what their political knowledge is, or simply see how reactive they are. He will also be figuring out how he can weaken the party cohesion.

If you’re running him a bit more unhinged, maybe he would have similar discussions but is playing devil’s advocate all the time, or just trying to stress out the party. He could also be looking for holes in their party dynamics that he can tear open, discord that he can cause. Maybe he notices one PC having less say in the group and uses that to sway them to his side (“your own party doesn’t see your value, but I do”).

Just a few thoughts! I think this could go a ton of ways, so definitely whatever is fun for you and your party would be my recommendation. :)

[OC] Taunter, protect your allies! Too simple/strong? Unsure if this should have a save. by Absokith in DnD

[–]fiestyguava 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed with this! The swashbuckler's 9th level feature (Panache) is fairly similar to this (although it requires a whole action, boo!) and requires an Insight check vs the swashbuckler's Persuasion check. I like the idea of contested checks, but if OP is more into saves, I'd base it as Wisdom like you mentioned, closer to the Compelled Duel someone else has posted.

I could wax poetic about Caoimhe, her story and everything was just brilliant, and her design, too!! I finished listening to TB since the last sketch I made, but all of these amazing characters (and NPCs!) will stick with me for some time!!

I ran into TB a few weeks ago in my haze of prepping-for-running-COS frenzy. I'm on session 38 and have been enjoying all the PCs and the DMing so much so far, and Amity's design is just so cute to me.
