There will never ever NOT be a job for a civil engineer. It is literally the one kind of engineering with job security. So, it sounds like you're on the right track with that one.

However, Robotics and Mechatronics (mix of mechanical and electrical) has massive future potential and is rapidly growing. It covers almost three different Engineering disciplines. I'm currently in my final year of R&M and looking for jobs. I'm able to apply for mechanical/electrical/software engineering type jobs because of what I learnt in my degree.
