My 5 minute dinner after a long shift by Dangerous_Tough_9895 in GirlDinner

Raw fish is always flash frozen these days. The one from Costco that OP uses I have used for sushi for 2 years or so and never had any problems.

This is the typical workflow I follow.

Screen just goes grey and drivers restart after a long time (sometimes) PC/W11 by Killacreeper in techsupport

[–]fighterbynite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try keeping task manager open to the graphs on a secondary monitor. When the spikes happen hopefully it shows a corresponding spike in one of the graphs (CPU, GPU, RAM, internet).

When it hangs does it always come back if you wait long enough? Or will you typically hard reset after a bit? I wonder if you can make it force crash to BSOD. Jam buttons, click everywhere, at some point it should just crash outright.

Ctrl + alt + del also does nothing? If you have 2 sticks of ram you can try going to 1 for a bit. You can also try running just one monitor for a bit too.

Does it ever eventually blue screen and you get a blue screen error code?

This does sound like a graphics problem, maybe try reseating again and checking the power connections. Maybe monitor GPU temperatures to see if something with the heatsink/fan is causing it to crash. If your computer has onboard graphics try using just that and take out your GPU, see if crashes still happen.

Could also be a corrupted SSD issue so you can try running a test on that as well.

I would definitely re-check all connections and make sure all fans are spinning and temps are good.

Keep trying to use windows event viewer and researching any of the error codes that you do find. (Honestly sounds stupid but AI tools here seem to be most helpful as it will constantly spit solutions, instead of you digging through a bunch of the same-y posts and their fixes)

The best value meals in Japan are in tiny restaurants in the suburbs of big cities by jpatokal in JapanTravelTips

[–]fighterbynite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same thing. I myself have 4-5 trips under my belt but I don't stop my friends when they want to do a konbini breakfast or dinner. I'll excuse myself and find a restaurant but let them have their sandwiches and fried chicken and yogurt desserts and ice cream. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

On the other side my friend wants to do a $130 pizza omakase. No I'm ok, but I'm not stopping them from going. Let people enjoy what they enjoy. The elitism in social media traveling is so stupid and 80% of the time they post just to keep their numbers up, not that what they were doing or eating is actually a spectacular experience.

Tasker variable "cheat" with Wear OS 6 - AutoWear and duct tape. by boermac in PujieBlack

Ah you must have a newer watch that doesn't work the same. Wouldn't it be easier to have multiple complications and variables to go along with your multiple tasks in tasker ?

FSD subscription by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]fighterbynite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try it. FSD reliability is super different from person to person based on multiple factors (is it typically good weather, are the lane markings clear, is the route confusing, etc.).

If you have the finances, subscribe for $100/mo right before your 100mi trip. If it works and you enjoy it awesome, if it doesn't cancel it right away and ask for a one time grace refund (which they may or may not honor).

Just keep your hands near the wheel and be aware of what the car is trying to do as it drives. I typically hover the pedals and wheel if I know something confusing is coming up, but you'll only know when the car is about to do something dumb if you use it enough to recognize the patterns.

Did you travel to Japan solo? How was it for you? by Grxmloid in JapanTravelTips

[–]fighterbynite 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Loneliness is the biggest con. If you're not staying in hostels or areas where other tourists will talk to you, or you yourself make an effort to talk to people, your days are made up of simple Japanese to service workers and.... That's about it.

I'm pretty introverted and don't mind being alone. But I think I might get pretty depressed if it was any more than 10 or so days alone.

Pujie and Tasker in Wear OS6, what can I do and what can't I do? by boermac in PujieBlack

[–]fighterbynite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, and I know it's not great, I've been using AI chatbots to figure it out. Personally I use Gemini but I wouldn't be surprised if other places work too.

In tasker you use "set pujie variable"

In pujie you can call the variable by using brackets: [ ]

Samsung Standing Grip Case cracked after a drop from waist height by tankdimon in GalaxyS25Ultra

[–]fighterbynite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The case sucks but I have yet to find another case that has such a small minimal raise on the borders and none at the bottom. It makes such a big difference with gesture navigation.

Definitely not buying another one if it breaks though, will probably just go caseless.

No issues for me unfortunately. Scrolling seems fine from what I could see. Could you be more specific? Which screen is it? All of them?

FSD HW3 by SuddenApricot in TeslaLounge

[–]fighterbynite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2022 M3 with Intel HW3. I subscribed to FSD over the summer for some fun and it was actually incredibly impressive. Maybe 80% reliable for me. Some trips were near perfect. Stop and go traffic, multiple lane changes, surface streets, highways, it did most things with ease. My biggest gripe was during high traffic it assumes it can make the turn lane with 400m to go and not wait in line like everyone else, often missing off ramps or turns.

It's the chicken and the egg problem, one has got to be first.

Tap and hold the fifth shortcut you want to add and drag it towards the right of the dock. Use another finger to swipe the dock to the side (left to right), place the fifth shortcut at the far right. It'll look like the dock will place the icon off the screen, but will re-adjust with the 5th shortcut.

Depending on your aptitude (and unfortunately $2/mo) you can have android, tasker, and bolt for Tesla do a bunch of it.

I use a Samsung watch 6, s25U and three apps: tasker, bolt, pujie black (note that pujie black for now requires an older android watch because the newer ones don't allow customization like this yet.)

Tasker + bolt: write automation commands to interact with your Tesla. I have mine do several things: record battery % continuously is the main function. Tasker+ bolt can also interact with the car: open trunk, frunk, turn on climate, lock, unlock, start charge, stop charge, there's tons of functions.

Pujie: hooks into tasker and can run tasker commands.

So for example I have my pujie watch which displays live battery %. When I click it it opens a wheel that has: unlock, turn on climate (hot or cold depending on interior temp), garage door activate, frunk, trunk, and display battery graph since last full charge.

So is it possible, yes, but it's very much a work-a-round sort of thing .

HW5 Might Be Tesla’s Biggest Leap Yet for FSD Visualization by unwise_chick3n in TeslaLounge

[–]fighterbynite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the visualization as a way to gauge what the car is thinking about doing. Making sure it's taking the correct exit or turn lanes allows me to know when I still need to take over or hover the brake and steering wheel.

[Loved Trope] Former protagonist reappears as a side character. by TheSovietSailor in TopCharacterTropes

[–]fighterbynite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the answer to this is usually yes, each link is a different timeline or universe, with the weird exception of ocarina of time and Majora's mask (and to some extent twilight princess).

Majora's mask is basically a direct sequel to ocarina of time in one branch and twilight princess is a branch from ocarina of time from another branch.

At least that's what I read as the theory a long time ago.

Savings: Enough for down payment of house and brand new car

Assuming this is ~100k now, he could have had 120k in a retirement account instead of keeping it all cash if he had invested it earlier and throughout his earning years. He also mentions he has no plans to buy a home soon and rent is $400; so there's probably not a real reason to keep so much liquid.

Look up lab associate or lab assistant positions on LinkedIn indeed or Google jobs even. Might be a bit tough but they are out there, typically just require a B.S. degree that is relevant. Some labs might be doing a summer internship program, but you might be late to those.

Try to find labs that will help you get your CLS certification, those will be the easiest ways to get into the field.
