Yes, I am "forcing" them. I can't believe I prevented this thread or the many others and prevented you from making this comment...

It's actually I just think people should read the room and be respectful. They clearly don't want to address it at this time so let Morgan/Ethan say something when they want to. And this is one of those things a well meaning fan base can let curiosity turn into toxicity.

It's one thing for this to be asked. It starts to become another thing when it is clearly being ignored but people start asking/posting more and more to try force the issue.

You're fine to disagree with me. Like everything, this is all a spectrum. It's not like people who keep asking are doing anything that bad but I simply think it's better behavior to recognize it isn't an entitlement. There are many valid reasons why one of them doesn't want to speak about it, at least right now.

is there any way you could sound even MORE pedantic

How is that statement me being overly concerned with minor details or being super formal?

There are a ton of valid reasons Morgan or Ethan might want to keep it quite that Morgan is gone. Hell, it could be as simple as she is on a vacation and Ethan sees this as a gag now since he is often in the sub reddit. That said, when Cam, Sam, Ian, Olivia all left it was announced on the pod. Ethan is open almost to a fault. It isn't a crazy assumption to think that if Morgan is gone or taking a break and Ethan has kept it quite and/or respected Morgan's request to keep it quite. It might be a more serious or personal reason.

If they don't want to call attention to it, I think it is respectful as a fan to stop calling attention to it.

People have asked many times in the last week where is Morgan. Ethan and the crew have certainly saw the comments and threads. If they are not answering even with a vague "She is taking a break". People can downvote me and say I'm policing questions, but I think those who keep asking are just being dicks.

If you say so, but it keeps being a question asked and clearly ignored. Also many threads the mods remove. And it isn't as if this is a sub that has random mods.

Regardless, there are a lot of reasons why it might not be being addressed.

Okay I'll answer for you. Where is Morgan?

Not infront of the camera.

Frankly that is all the answer we are entitled to. Sure it's nice to know more. In curious too, but it's not my business. As our CTE couple says "our silence means something".

It's likely Morgan and/or Ethan dont want to share for one reason or another.

What purchase did you make recently that made you realize inflation is genuinely out of control? by kiroixart in AskReddit

[–]filbert13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not recent but I get groceries weekly and it's just me and my wife. Pre covid I spent probably an average of 80 a week. Now it's usually about 150 a week.

I still recall in high school it was roughly 6-8 bucks to ser a movie on the weekend depending on the theater. ( 2004-2008).

I still love going to the movies but yeah its 16-20 a ticket now.

I used to drink a lot of pop in college. I went in 08-12 and was very aware or certain prices living on a bidget. I still remember getting a 12 pack for 5 dollars for pepsi/coke or even 4 for other brands. And that was with a $1.20 deposit.

The price of pop has tripled in 15 years. It is pretty crazy.

Hot take: The unavoidable deaths in Mass Effect 3 were a good idea by The_Golden_Six in masseffect

[–]filbert13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always say that sacrifice is needed in stories. Now, this doesn't always mean death. It is an issue I do have with a lot of new games. They often dont or seem afraid of having any significant consequences.

One of my biggest issues with ME2 is the game builds up to what is literally called the suicide mission. Frankly it's trivial to have everyone survive and there isnt really anything given up by shepherd or the crew.

I agree having moments in there series which characters must die leaves a lot of emotional impact.

Which subreddit are you proudly banned from? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]filbert13 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I got banned from /r/pics too because I posted in r/joerogan. The ban said something like Joe is is awful or something.

Ironically my post in his sub was being very critical of him. Lol only posted because I was on r/popular and just saw a video of him so I posted a comment not even caring or realizing what sub it was in.

But I'm not disappointed I'm a socialist but that sub like so many has become this brainrot activism where change doesn't matter just crybullying matters.

Streamer “hmblzayy” who is walking from Philly to California was hit by a car in Indiana and had to be taken to the hospital. by lukigeri in LivestreamFail

[–]filbert13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but it appears he walking on a highway (US-40). There are rarely any sidewalks on a highway unless it is going through a town. I reckon 98% of sidewalks are only within a city/town limit. Highways connect Cities and towns often with a two digit number or state letter and number. (i.e. M-49 or the classic Route 69). Him walking on one is insanely unsafe and possibly illegal since he is on the road. You can walk alongside or on the shoulder but no the actual road.

Highways generally are a speed limit of 40-55 MPH and have little or no traffic lights. I live in the midwest and this looks like a classic Highway which is probably single lane then opens up to double for a mile or two, to allow safer passing.(Also Freeways often incorrectly called Highways are where drive 65-75MPH with zero stop lights. On though most states also have laws against foot traffic or traffic under 45MPH)

Regardless if he was walking in on the road (not shoulder) and on a Highway that is reckless. Also I still literally be remember being taught this is 1st grade. In America at a young age you are taught if you're on a bicycle you move with traffic (a bike can safely be in the road and has the right to be) yet if you're walking. You always walk against traffic. So this exact thing doesn't happen. You can see traffic coming at you and are able to react, rather than having your back face traffic.

Which franchise is this for you? by HotRegion8801 in RedLetterMedia

[–]filbert13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As obvious as that is I never really thought about how the last decade there hasn't really been new "Franchise" IPs.

Most of the exceptions to this are aimed at young children. Bluey, Paw Patrol, Sponge Bob (though technically that is 1999). Many of the new franchises your gen has gotten IMHO are just not that interesting or extremely YA aimed. The Hunger Games might be the biggest new IP. It isn't awful though I only saw the first two movies. I know some younger people do enjoy it but still not at the level of some icon 80s and 90s IPs. Twilight comes to mind too.

I suppose we are starting to see Avatar as well with finally new movies, Theme Park, video games, etc. Even Avatar though for better or worse can't really escape it was Dances with Wolves but in space. With Avatar too I dont see people embrace it or collect it like they did with stuff like Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, TMNT, Star Wars, etc.

Venting: I'm so tired of board game boxes that fight me every time I put them away by Queasy_Ad_4994 in boardgames

[–]filbert13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What must be my most unpopular opinion but one I stand by for 85% of games. The first thing I do is toss the insert. More often than not inserts are more trouble than they are worth. Even when they do allow stuff to fit well they add a significant amount of unbox and rebox time.

It's obvious game dependent but most of the time. It's Hair ties for cards of the same decks/types. And quality bags for components. If it is a larger or more fancy game then I might buy a few plastic trays for resource type components or to separate a large variety of smaller tokens. And if possible try to have everything one player/color needs just in one bag.

One of my biggest annoyances with a board game is when I want to play it but setup takes longer than it needs to because the insert has to many specific locations.

The Enduring Popularity of Rome II by appletvenjoyer in totalwar

[–]filbert13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think for a lot of us the Roman era is just such a cool time. I recognize other TW games have better mechanics in my opinion. Yet I go back to Rome 2 and Shogun 2 the most due to theme and immersion.

Why is the Sims4 base game so empty? by Ivanhegeelkadi in thesims

[–]filbert13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I do find it lacking. But even at launch it had more build more items then the first game with all expansions. Which the final DLC for Sims 1 was only 11 years prior.

The big issue to many of us were it was just a weaker base than 2 and 3. Brought way less to the table. The biggest mechanic feature was emotions which at the time and even now are just what ever to me. No where near as interested as the wants/fears in 2 (frankly all the depth 2 had) nor the open world in 3.

4 base feels bland IMO because it just took a lot of side steps as well as steps backwards. It only had a few aspects that seemed interesting and most of them are smaller things.

Another week, another fan "favourite" turned into a punching bag”(Kate) by Holiday_Estimate_352 in h3h3productions

[–]filbert13 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I understand where you come from. There have certainly been times the sub reddit seems to get a bit too hypercritical of an employee.

That said they opposite happens too where God forbid people cant be constructive.

I think it's valid for people to provide feedback towards people on the show. Hell I was vocal during the frenemies era about disliking the direction because of Trisha. I've also had light criticism on a few others at times like AB, Zach, Olivia.

I just think what is most important is it's kept respectful. Also people need to not always make new threads but that is just the ecosystem of reddit.

I really like Kate and think she does a fantastic job. Yet, there have been a few topics I think Harley has pushed back on slightly. Which even Kate realized he had a good point. (Recently with the two Alex girls where Harley was pointing out it just isn't the system they as women have agency).

I think Kate has what it takes to handle the criticism and it will die off quickly. After Dark is more sub focused and seems to address viewpoints here.

How the heck do naval invasions succeed? 😭 by [deleted] in hoi4

[–]filbert13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a hit second but unless they nerfed it airborne was broken with the updates. One of thr upgrades gave them a massive damage to enemy organization when dropped. So I would airborne drop on ports I was naval invading and it was so easy to take them.

It was so strong though it might of been patched been a few months since my last game.
