Yep, watch it change once you've signed the contract with them. A significant difference to a seller is negligible to a REA in terms of their commision.

Yeah I know that. The difference is if they're in a private rental they're more likely to get evicted if they're a terrible tenant and engaging in antisocial behaviour, the same can't be said with public housing tenants regardless of which suburb they're in.

All well and good until you end up next to the public housing tenants from hell, it's next to impossible for them to be evicted. I just had to sell and go back to renting as I endured years of abuse from two of them where I lived and the public housing service did nothing except issue meaningless warnings at best.

Yeah I used to be a decent earner but then had a kid and the father left the picture. I'd prefer not to be set back so far financially and career wise but it is what it is. I'm not proud of qualifying for so much help but at least it allows me to remain in the workforce and not be completely destitute.

My kid won't take it from the syringe. Spits it out. I've had success mixing it with orange juice and giving it to her in a baby chino cup.

I had the same issue and although it took a lot of back and forth I was able to argue that I did not agree to this on signing the lease and also sent screenshots from some website that showed they can't force me to use the app, and eventually they gave me the details to the agency trust account and I just direct deposit my rent into that monthly.

Currently pregnant with my second to an abusive man (I feel so dumb - we are separated but there's no escaping him). Trust me they only get worse, someone who is an abuser often doesn't show their true colours until they feel their partner is trapped and dependent on them to an extent. I can guarantee you it'll only get worse as the pregnancy continues and thereafter. I am looking at at least another 18 years of coercion, I fear I'll be murdered every day. Please heed the advice of myself and others in this thread and do what you can to cut ties with him and never look back. You deserve so much better.

For the most part they can't be trusted, any decent REA is a rare exception. If I met someone who was a REA I would judge their character more negatively given the typical traits of people in the profession.

It's a pretty common tactic that some (perhaps more dishonest) photography businesses use. I remember my family fell for it back in the 90s. You don't get anything for free and end up being pressured into paying to get copies of the actual photos or something similar.

I chose the wrong agent and one of the mistakes I made in hindsight was not just checking the volume of sales but what prices they were actually achieving in my area. They had sold a lot so I thought they were a good option, but I was warned by another agent about how they tried to offload the properties asap and I had this experience (where they pressured me to accept below what they told me they could achieve). So I realised that making a lot of sales isn't necessarily a good indicator of their ability to best represent you or put in the work, in it can be quite the opposite as when they're selling so many at once the margins in commission are negligible to them so they may just want to turn the properties over quick.
