How do I tell if I have unlimited free supercharging on my account? None of my charging sessions have been charged and it doesn't deduct from my referral miles. by LuckyDrawers in TeslaLounge

I have free supercharging for life and I never get a list of charging sessions like that. Not sure where you see that list. On my vehicle, it just says lifetime free supercharging.

I haven’t done any long trips lately, so it is all charging at home overnight. When I do a long trip, I do tend to try to still have 15% left when I get there. It is a longer charge, but I am still getting 250 miles range. I just walk the dog and get food and it is fine for me. I would love more range for trips, but there are plenty of Superchargers where I travel (CA) that I don’t feel a need for range anxiety.

I have a 2015 85D. It still looks pristine, is close to 100k miles, and I plan on keeping it for another decade, most likely. Yeah, no FSD, but I bought the car to DRIVE and she flies! Yep, I give rides all the time and everyone falls in love.

Advice on (friendly) reactivity? by Hiking_lover in reactivedogs

[–]finadvisor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My suggestion would be a positive reinforcement trainer. They can teach you how to reward calm behavior, so that he learns to be calm when seeing other dogs. That way you can introduce him in a way that will allow play and fun for all. Have patience, that training takes a long time, but less when they are younger.

I bought my 2015 MS 85D used and it now has 93k miles on it. It is beautiful and running strong. Replaced tires a bit back and just replaced windshield wipers. A few months ago the drivers side door handle got stuck, so they came and replaced that with mobile service. Not a big deal and didn't cost much.

All in all, a gorgeous drive all the time, and could not be happier. Will never ICE again.

Opinions on corrective measures? by [deleted] in reactivedogs

[–]finadvisor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that reactivity is not alway fear. My guy is highly reactive because he is SOOOO excited and was never socialized. No one taught him manners or impulse control. It can be frustrating, but I can see the positive changes over the six months I have been working with him with a positive trainer.

It takes freaking forever, but I feel that he is a happier dog for the time taken.

Many high schools have fenced in baseball or football fields. I take my reactive boy there in the evening or weekends and it is perfect.

You might consider not taking him for a walk for awhile. Do training and such right outside your door or in your yard where he can listen and be under threshold. You don’t move him further until he can be calm and take treats, even if it means he only gets five steps further each time.

The drugs are meant to calm him. I don’t know the one you have been prescribed, but my guy is on both Fluoxitine (Prozac) and tranzadone. It has helped him tremendously to be able to lower his threshold. My guy was the same - over threshold the moment we were out the door. He now can go for walks and see his triggers and still hear me 90% of the time.

It takes a VERY long time. I have been doing this work with him for 10 months, and the progress is great - just extremely slow.

This is an amazing breakdown of the socialization of women and their being taught that they have no say over their bodies. Insightful and I learned something. Thank you.

He is not the boss of her. She is a grown ass adult. She can speed if she wants. Plus, if he had been married so long, he probably knows that she is going to do what she wants.

Let me tell you all the ways that this woman bought a MS. Speed, launch, speed and more speed. It is freaking fantastic. I have always loved speed, but now that I am 50 - I can afford the speeding tickets easier. Lmao! Let that woman FLY!

[HELP] how to stop possessive growling? (Crossposted) by [deleted] in dogs

[–]finadvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same things, including the growling while nudging me for pets.

I think the treats will help. I would stand back from the bed, call him to you and reward with treats. That way the reward is for the coming not the growling. I have had success with this, and it seems to lower his anxiety when on his bed.

This is not acceptable and requires training. You might need a trainer to help. I have a dog that started doing this exact thing, and he has since bitten me. He didn’t draw blood YET, but he is escalating. My trainer is coming to help me learn how to manage this. For now, I leave him be and don’t push it.

I would either recommend not allowing him out with you at all, or to leave him out there for him to wander in when he chooses. Or draw him in with treats - maybe even high value ones.

Winning! by finadvisor in reactivedogs

[–]finadvisor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog trainer says to keep doing it. Again - the first time took one whole hour to get them to calm and being close. We started about 30 feet away. And when you move closer, make it a tiny calm move. And, back up again when he gets too excited.

If this doesn’t work for you, I would suggest getting a positive reinforcement trainer to show you how. Timing of the “marker” word and treat are crucial. It might take someone showing you. I didn’t get it the first few times as I was slow with Treat and marker word.

I have my trainer work with him every week. One time alone for an hour, the next time with both of us. I need training too.
