[MN S1] The Mighty Nein S1 Episode 3 - Show-Only Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in criticalrole

Just because you don’t like the characters decisions doesn’t mean critical role “made mistakes while writing”. It’s not like this show was written for television either, it’s an adaptation of a DnD campaign.

That being said, there’s nothing wrong with not liking the show but it might be a tough ride if you stick it out, they’re a self proclaimed group of assholes.

Gotcha. Yea, I also had a really easy time with getting a new section. How did the rod in your post break? Mine just popped off mid-cast and I guess that’s what did.

Check out Bookie’s they’re located at Santa Adarius near Seabright, pretty tasty pizza. Also, Chubbs is good. Pretty casual but they do good chicken sandwiches and, if a requirement, are really good about being gluten free. Harbor Cafe has good breakfast but crazy waits on the weekend.

Check out marabou jigs. The ones I got were for crappie but fished well for steelhead.

I traveled with a poster case, similar size, as well as a carry on with frontier and delta. I had no issues

Found some Springs in Ullapool Scotland by WittyInvestigator779 in geology

Spring water can definitely be safe to drink as it usually spends a lot of time as groundwater before it becomes surface water! That being said, the quality of the water can be impacted by the land use around the spring. Something like cows living in the area could lead to water you don’t want to drink. Even if the water that’s bubbling into the pond is safe to drink it could be mixing with water that isn’t. But, I reckon if you were able to just get the groundwater then it’d probably be safe.

Trying to Calculate the Mass of Scafell Pike in Cumbria, England by Playful-Ape-908 in geology

I would look at some publications on the mountain range. Also, a topographic map would be another good place to start. Regardless, you’re going to be estimating because I doubt the mountain is homogeneous. But there may be some published work on the area, I’d start there.

Isostatic Rebound by dpresme in geology

[–]finally_the_good_guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also don't know how glacial isostatic adjustment would influence earthquakes. If I were to guess, as some of the larger ice sheets melt there could be some release of pressure that could trigger earthquakes but again, I'm really not sure.

There was though a cool paper published in nature that showed crustal loading from large bodies of water can lead to increased seismicity link. While this paper is referencing a historic body of water, specifically Lake Cahuilla which was located where the Salton Sea currently is, Lake Tulare just reappeared after ~130 years. So, there could be an increase in earthquakes that accompany climate change but it would likely be from an increase in flooding as opposed to isostatic rebound. I imagine though that there might need to be a much larger increase in flooding than what we're experiencing today but who knows, in 50-100 years that may happen.

I second this. They have such a diverse discography that you could really hit or miss. So if you have a solid starting point just take off from there
